No you never - we let in 6 goals from set pieces last season (7 if you include a direct free-kick but I don’t) and we’ve already eclipsed that at just halfway through the season.
He can’t last another two defeats. Lose to Chelsea & Leicester and he’s gone.I fear that that is the case.
Every other club in the world have DOF. City and Liverpool and Chelsea all have DOF works well for them
Absolutely nailed it Eggs.….i recall being regularly told it was only the injuries holding us back, we have a very decent team when everybody is fit. There’ll always be one or two injuries and/or suspensions, the best managers cope.
I’m genuinely surprised at how poorly the team is being managed. We played a Palace team coming off the back of 3 defeats, yet the clear tactics was to allow them possession, consolidate and not concede; No press, instead forwards drop into their own half. No tempo.
Everton have won more points from a losing position than any other team in the PL. it’s a major stat as it shows we are poorly set-up and organised at the start of games. There is no getting away from that. We are more effective when we go behind & have to play more positively.
Only a very stubborn man would continue down a path that doesn’t work. This team/squad is better than most in the league, we are poorly coached.

City definitely have one , the others call it technical or sporting director . I’m not sure the name makes a lot of difference to the role really . Pretty much everyone has someone doing it , I think the difference is they probably appoint someone and take on board what they say rather than paying them a huge Salary to make the tea.Well, I'm not aware of any of them using the title Director of Football.
Chelsea are an odd one, I'll give you that. The other two have two long term world class managers. Let's see how well their 'model' works when them two aren't around shall we?
Goals per game conceded 2020: 1.3The raw numbers does not show the gulf in performance between this and last season.
You claimed they did and they didn't.

An awful lot of sense here, but the bit in bold I can't agree with.….i recall being regularly told it was only the injuries holding us back, we have a very decent team when everybody is fit. There’ll always be one or two injuries and/or suspensions, the best managers cope.

They have replacements lined up ready to go and keep the same model. Sporting director and director of football the same job just maned differently.Well, I'm not aware of any of them using the title Director of Football.

Were like 5th bottom for nearly everything...
3rd worst in possession
4th worst pass completion
2nd worst tackles per game
