OK - you’ve exposed yourself here

Did he not get them back up?

It seems your underlying drive is emotional - the Liverpool link? Hence not taking a balanced view and looking just for negatives

That’s the problem with some of our fanbase - emotion rather than logic driven

He was popular with the Newcastle fans - have a look at this:

He was popular with Newcastle fans because they were used to Joe Kinnear being appointed manager - not someone coming straight from Real Madrid. In reality though, he did nothing that Chris Hughton or Alan Pardew didn’t do better.

If you think Barry Horne was a legend though, maybe you just have chronically low expectations.

We have beaten this to death like Benitez has done to Everton the past 3 months.

It's no grand achievement to get relegated when you were a point off safety with a game in hand and 10 games to go and then come back up when you have double the wage bill of any other team in the Championship. It just isn't.

He was popular at Newcastle because he took shots at Ashley to distract from crap performances just like how he's found targets at Everton in our medical department, Brands, and now Lucas Digne.

He's a washed up dinosaur with an arrogance to match the worst of what we saw from Allardyce with even worse results than his.

Oh so 8 tweets being used as evidence of his popularity? Jesus that's scraping the barrel to prove a point.

Also, show me a fanbase that isn't emotion driven

Benitez is even more delusional than Martinez. Benitez still believes he is a top coach and nothing is ever his fault. He won't change he blames the players not his tactics or subs or training . What's more he claims we are making progress? Progress to where?! Downwards. I am worried when we have so many issues with the squad and such a egotistical figure as manager.

Superbly put.

1pt from safety with a game in hand, and got relegated with a game to spare.

I'm just going to copy and paste that post the next one of you clowns brings up Newcastle as a success.

It's as bad as you all pretending him packing off to China wasn't him acknowledging he was finished as a manager.
He couldn't get a job anywhere else but he lucked out when he found someone as gullible and taken in by names and record as Moshiri.

Ahh, so you’re fine with him getting us relegated, so long as he gets us promoted again?

I said earlier you were 100% on a windup. Should have stuck with my initial assessment. So weird.
You’ve exposed yourself my friend - this is all emotion

From what I understand he joined them very close to the end of the season in a relegation threatened position and won a number of games but not enough to keep them up. But then got them up and they’ve stayed up since

And the fans liked him there

But you’re out of runway - trying to find negatives as a cover for the real reason for not liking him - ie his kopite connection

So better to have someone like Nuno with no real track record in management?

Newcastle was not that long ago

I’m not saying Benitez is perfect obviously but what / who else is the solution then?

Sometimes you have to be realistic about your position and do the best you can with what’s available - it’s good that the fans have high expectations but need to balance with some realism
You really think he’s doing the best he can with what’s available! The Villa, QPR, Watford, Wolves, Brentford, Liverpool, and Crystal Palace results would suggest otherwise!

I don't think most are actually denying that the kopite element isn't a factor. You tho are fixated on it, totally.

10 games, 1pt from safety with a game in hand. They got relegated a game before the end of the season.

They LOST GROUND in his time at the club that season. They literally would have been better off keeping whoever he replaced.

Who could we realistically recruit then who you wouldn’t envisage shooting holes through at the first sign of a bad run?

If you work at the club like you have made out, what are you doing coming on here and having a go at fans?
Yes but to just dismiss the man who’s bankrolled the whole operation to the extent he has as an ‘idiot’ - that’s pretty extreme

Perhaps the supporters club can find ways to bring the club and fans closer together so fans can get more of an appreciation of the work we do on the inside
