To be very fair, i was replying to someone who incorrectly thought we beat Chelsea at the Bridge last season, when in fact we lost 2 0, another Carlo highlight a few days before Burnley came to Goodison and beat us
I think they were referencing the home game approx 1 year ago where we won 1-0.

Who could we realistically recruit then who you wouldn’t envisage shooting holes through at the first sign of a bad run?
The fans are never going to be 100% behind any manager because opinions will always vary across our wide and diverse fan base.

There's a list out there that doesn't feature any names that had previously had negative history with the club. Start with those.

Let's face it though the whole discussion of "Who do you realistically want as manager?" Is one that supporters of the current manager don't engage in good faith. It's a loaded question and I cba playing the game with all of you when you ask it.

It's inevitable that whatever name I put down you will find holes in why he shouldn't be picked or why we can't get them in your opinion. That's fine and you're entitled to those opinions as much as I am to mine about Benitez. It's a futile game that you want people unhappy with the manager to engage in solely to distract from the fact that there is currently no good reasons to stick with this one.

It's Moshiri's decision at the end of the day. He brought Ancelotti to the club and, despite the horrific decision to bring Benitez in, I do believe he is capable of attracting someone better than what we have to the job. I can't answer who because I don't know what Moshiri can offer and who would be interested. I don't have any footy agent mates.

Yep - or I’ve hit on something?
Defo a wum.

Last chance before you end up like @Theoneandonly

You HIT on nothing, we don't like Benitez, it's no friggin secret, we didn't want him, it's no secret, he is a busted flush, it's no secret, he will be sacked, it's no secret, we are on our worst run in decades... ..

You get the picture, so what have you HIT on?

Pray tell.

Have also followed the club for 30+ years - not looking down on but seeing big opportunities to improve the way some fans engage, in order to help the success of the club

It may well not be possible though. I don’t think jumping from manager to manager will help though - who would be next and what would happen when they hit a bad patch? At some point someone needs a chance to build something

We’d hoped that would be Ancelotti - him leaving in the way he did is the root cause of some of the issues now and hence think some patience is needed to turn it round
As far as I’m concerned the style of football and the frustrating idiosyncrasies of this manager make him a dead end appointment. He will take us nowhere, except possibly down to the Championship if he can’t fashion a way out of this disastrous tailspin that is currently consuming us.
As long as he is here I have no hope of a better future for EvertonF.C. and enter the stadium each week with the grim realisation that the only decent football I will witness will come from the opposition.

When did moyes win 1 in 10?
Like Ferguson as I’m sure you’ll know he was afforded some poor league positions early on - but ultimately both managers benefitted from stability and the platforms they were able to build

Not unusual in other types of organisation for people to naturally be given time to find their feet - it can have its benefits

I fear the fans will push to not afford Raf’a the time. But then who will the next man be - and who would want to come?

That's all great and all, but when did moyes win 1 in 10?

Moyes earnt a few bad runs (none as bad as this which was the original comment) by the fact he saved us from relegation in his first season after inheriting a squad and spending no money and also got us 4th early on in his career with us. Benitez hasn't earned anything.

Personally not really looking to shoot holes in any managers in the early stages of their tenure - after a decent period perhaps if they haven’t delivered

My question was more who might you find who we could attract and you wouldn’t shoot holes in?

I suspect it could be a short list, if not a blank sheet of paper?

It was more the principle of being afforded time rather than specifically replicating the run of results….

This is highly debatable.

Loves the scattergun approach, a club like ours cant really do that, not yet at least. We can not afford to soak up the ones who don't work (which are many in Benitez's career).
This
Back in June I asked one of the few semi sensible rs I know about Benitez, he said.

He's very stubborn, gets players and/or ideas fixed in his head and won't budge.
He bought 61 player, about half were gash.
and once played Gerrard at right back for some reason
You're in for a bumpy ride

Not too far off atm

Yes but to just dismiss the man who’s bankrolled the whole operation to the extent he has as an ‘idiot’ - that’s pretty extreme

Some general positivity would go a long way. There seems to be very little empathy for the people in there doing it

Perhaps the supporters club can find ways to bring the club and fans closer together so fans can get more of an appreciation of the work we do on the inside
"Work we do on the inside" - you trying to imply you work for the club? I sincerely hope you dont, because if your nonsense happened to be a reflection of the thinking inside the club then we are truly [Poor language removed]

I couldn't answer as I don't keep up with much footy these days outside of Everton.

When we're crap like this I cba watching any other footy.
