Maybe your right, maybe he knows something was said. I don’t know. But it’s still very plausible that it could of been said. I’m sure lots of things happen that the media don’t get hold of or don’t speak about, but I would bet if Benitez was/is sacked, the journo’s would spout about how Bill had insisted on it happening a while back to make him look good. Standard pawns being moved into position by Bill I think.
They speculate on those things all the time. The last Athletic articles on the Brands and Ancelotti departures underline that.

I just dont think there was any substance to this whatsoever and the feller in question posted what he knew to be what some Everton fans were desperate to hear.

IF we can win next 4, all are winnable.

Could this be the table?

If his word would have no effect, why say it? He had too much to lose by getting in touch with Moshiri to try and persuade him into what he wouldn't do post derby. Anyone who appreciates the dynamics of that relationship and how Kenwright is completely dependent on Moshiri will know that Kenwright making it plain to Moshiri that he wouldn't support Moshiri's appointment as manager is a fantasy. But the *ITK* claimed it.
Nobody at the football club other than Moshiri wanted Benitez.

But you are right in essence. Bill 'making his feelings clear' to Moshiri means nothing, unless Moshiri suddenly starts valuing Bill's opinion over that of Kia Joorabchian.

Definitely in the minority here but if Ancellotti,Koeman, Silva or Martinez only had £1.7 million to spend they wouldn't be getting this grief......Sheedy was a red...Dave Watson was a red......two biggest Evertonians you could ever meet now......if the manager was from outer space I'd support him.....and also if he gets his funds and is crap I'll want him out....but he's had nothing...add the injuries to that and it's a joke.....I'm just as much a blue as anyone on here.....support the club....if he's gash give him grief then.....you can see he's trying his best with what he's got.....he even mentioned the spirit of the blues in his interview yesterday......he's trying to get the fans on board......we need to back him.....I only post on here a few times a year..and yes im a bit drunk...but let's stick together blues...back our Manager.....them fans at Chelsea were amazing the other night...I felt so proud to be a blue......I'll post again next year...happy christmas to all Evertonians x

An ellipsis is 3 dots mate...

I know I`ve said it before, I`ll say it again, we were laughing at Arsenal when Arteta when he went in there.... Youngest squad in the league and sat in the top 4.

Makes you want to cry really.

Listening to his interview he comes across very well, he said when he went in he told the club how they were gonna run and give them an idetity to follow, all paying dividends now.

I know which position I`d rather be in out of the two clubs.........

When you look at the Arsenal team, which players of theirs would get in our first eleven?

They have a very good team, but when you consider:

Pickford
Branthwaite
Godfrey
Doucoure
Gordon
Gray
Richarlison
DCL

With some sensible sales and strategic signings in Jan and summer we could have a very strong young team.

Actually, if you dig deeper in 2020/21 season, all his 7 assists came in 2020. It means for about 20 games last season, he registered 0 assists. And that is with DCL and Richarlison fit. But if you also look into ours tactics for the second half of last season, we were playing very deep defensive, counter attacking football under Carlo.

Not saying he didn't regress under Benitez, he certainly did. Under Benitez, he became less solid defensively and we've seen him allowing a lot of crosses in. What I'm saying is that the signs were there before.

Aside from that, I think Digne himself would've push for a transfer anyways. His fallout came right after Brands was sacked, is not a coincidence.

He extended under Ancelotti and Brands and his expectation would have been an improvement in the team this season.

Instead his own performances, end product and team results have sunk.

im for selling Digne due to:

Age
FFP
Managers' style of play

But hes still a top player.

I dont think at this stage we need to look at the table so much...although its been frightening.

We need to focus on the games and points we have as a team.

If we take 12pts from 4 games and sit on 31pts after 21 games...thats a fantastic turnaround while building the squad in the Jan window.

Not sure Benitez can get 4 wins...

They speculate on those things all the time. The last Athletic articles on the Brands and Ancelotti departures underline that.

Like I say, maybe you are right, maybe he knows something we don’t. No idea.

Anyway, we’ve gone off on a tangent, but the bashing of the fella is unjust. Pretty much everything he tweets, happens or comes out to be true at some point.

Did want him to go after the results but is up to him now to get some good results and get us on a roll now. Getting players in that we need even if rb lb cm and maybe one more. With hopefully others would give us all a lift been too long club have had a sensible window

Depressing line in the Athletic's last article on us.

"The Spaniard (Bentiez) is now the one safeguarding Everton's future."

How, and why, did it come to this?
Simply because Moshiri/Usmanov (whichever one actually owns us) came in thinking they could just chuck a load of cash at the latest flavour of the month manager, sign a bunch of players and wave a magic wand and we would be up challenging at the top. There has been no sign of any type of ongoing plan at any point, it's all been off the cuff and when it hasn't worked it's just 'throw more money' to try and fix it which just causes more problems. Add to that the fact that for some ungodly reason Bill Kenwright has somehow managed to swing things in his favour that he gets to hang around even longer, we have ended up stuck behind a lot of other clubs imo and a lot of the managers/coaches who would be good for us I don't honestly think they would look twice at us at the moment simply because of the hiatus in the boardroom. That is why we have ended up with Benitez.

I agree with all of that

But the actual reason is also that Moshiri has decided Benitez is the answer, because he was impressed by the bloke’s Wyscout subscription

I'll judge him on those other tweets too.

Yes, he has access to a certain source(s) for team affairs; but a direct or indirect line to the communications between chairman amd owner? Nah.

I don't actually think this is a Moshiri decision though mate. If you think back over time all he has talked about is wanting Hollywood football under a Hollywood manager. Well Benitez might be a lot of things but one thing he most certainly is NOT is Hollywood football, he might get results over time (highly debatable) but it's never going to be in the way that Moshiri has talked about. I think this is Usmanov trying to steady the ship whilst the stadium is being built, which tbh I actually find slightly more disturbing as it means we are being dictated to by a guy who has no "official" involvement with our club. We are just a mess at the moment.

On the Arsenal point:

Tomyasu White Gabriel Tierney

Partey Saka Smith Rowe

All get into our team.

I think the only players Arsenal would realistically take from us are DCL and Richarlison to replace Aubemayang and Lacazette who both seem to have fallen from their peak now, possibly Docuoure in the middle but they don’t really play that style of football with Odegaard and Smith Rowe instead. They have a load of strength in depth as well with Xhaka Pepe Martinelli etc. all better than our fringe players.

Their squad is miles better than ours at the moment.

DCL and Calvert Lewin are the same person.
