Good to see the douchebag brothers getting in early, this fine New Years day.

A key aspect when managers get judged is how well he does on transfers.. we are yet to be able to judge Benitez properly yet so hopefuly if he gets one or two players in the January transfer window and a few in the summer we will be in a better position to judge..
I must admit I feel a bit better knowing Benitez will have more control now in who comes in rather than leaving it to the awful Brands..

I suggest you look at how Leicester won the league. You absolutely can survive in this league without majority of the possession. It’s call counter attack.
I think that’s a lot easier with a prime vardy upfront . DCL being back will definitely change the narrative and allow the wide players into the game but that in itself is completely different to how vardy fitted into the Leicester system as they’re completely different players .

In total fairness that was also a few years ago and football evolves , I’m a little concerned the manager is stuck to a football ethos that maybe hasn’t but fingers crossed it works out .

Managers live or die based on results, thats it. In this case the results have been bad!
Agree with this.

What are the chances of things changing under Benitez?

With the new window as good as open, he is supposed to be in total control?

Will he ever build and coach a team to be more positive?

We as fans want to see exciting attacking football, will we ever get that under Mr Benitez?

If the answer is no, how can he be a long term plan for us?

Why? you aren't an Everton fan

Different time though, that £5.6m would get you whole lot more than it would today
While £5.6m would have got you a lot more, you're well over estimating what it would have provided in quality. Moyes often operated on a shoe-string budget.

For reference, Beattie was £6.5m in January 2005, Phil Neville was £3.5m the summer after and Yakubu was £11m in 2007. So, £5.6m was not a huge sum.

When you consider that his net spend was so little, I think it's fair to say he did really well with his acquisitions and no wonder we had to slowly build.

As I've previously mentioned, a bit of Moyes's shrewdness and diligence wouldn't have gone amiss during the early year's of Moshiri's tenure as owner.

As Jez Moxey once said of Wolves and Blackburn, we became "the silly barstewards in the market".

Did you read the whole post that you quoted? The last line, 42.4% that's the possession figure Leicester had year they won the league.

You can of course counter attack but there is a big difference between Vardy running off the shoulder of the last defender which allows you to counter at speed and Benetiz version of the counter which is get it wide and then cross it into the box. Leicester could also defend properly which we can't. If you can't defend properly and your happy to allow the other team to have the ball, the outcome is inevitable

The defence comprise of players who constantly makes mistakes. Our best defender misses too many games to injury.

Midfield players are mostly lightweight, slow and can't keep possession, we have 1 good winger in Gray and two decent ones in Townsend and Gordon who is still young and learning.

Our main striker has missed most of the season and our second best striker has been on and off with injuries and consistency.

We can all agree most of the players are not good enough and needs to be replaced. Most of the goals conceded has been due to individual errors rather than tactical mistakes. I put forward the possibility that this season could have been much worse under a lesser manager.
