Its scary the obsession some have with the bloke.

Making lies up about him taking Richarlison off during the Palace game when he was injured topped the lot.

Conspiracy loons who sadly get egged on by others to post radical nonsense.
It is what it is. Can't say anything neutral or positive with some. Even a joke is shot down because it is perceived as positive for Benitez. Haha

I’ve seen every team play that’s he’s managed other than Valencia and the Chinese lot and they’ve all played dour negative football, he hasn’t moved with the times as his management career has shown over the last several years. Allaydyce with a tan and better PR
You definitely know more than me. We see attractive differently. Happy new year to you too.

"Attractive" is a subjective term open to individual's perception. I didn't watch all his teams either. I think winning is mostly attractive. Trophies are attractive too. I'm just making a friendly poke because he said ALL, implying he watched every team he managed and came to the conclusion they are ALL not attractive, hence his biggest fan because who else watches every game of every team he managed? No need to be too serious. Happy new year to you too.

Edit - To add on, personally, start of the season was pretty attractive and fun to watch while winning, not so fun and attractive when Everton was losing.

you can still win and not play attractive though, ie fat sam got results at everton but it was horrendous.

in regards to start of the season, i think the results papered over the cracks in certain games, the home games vs southampton and burnley we got played off the park in the first half, both games could have been out of sight if they were decent teams.

This, with bells on. We had to come from behind in a number of games after lacklustre first half performances - some worse than we'd seen in a while.

Many of us, including myself, felt it was a sign of development in terms of improved character and resilience, but it showed we couldn't impose ourselves

Genuinely, there's hardly any performances this season where you could honestly say, 'We played well' for more than 50% of a game.

Think back to the start of last season under Carlo and it's chalk and cheese.

Totally agree that Allardyce's Everton played some turgid football while he was here.

Some papering definitely did happen, I look at it more positively though. Some of the football was good, some was bad. A lesser manager might have gone on to lose those games. The players concede so many goals due to individual errors it's hard to stomach. Positive thing is still getting wins despite that.

Having said that, for an awful lot of Ancelotti's tenure we barely played a full game where we could say we played well. The footie wasn't great, but he did wring results out of the squad. By and large we were defensively sound. It's the latter two points that bother me most about Benitez.

Until that stopped happening

Definitely in the latter part of the season there were many average to poor performances under Ancelotti, and no level-headed fan would say otherwise.

The point however is that we've not seen any real truly positive performances this season from Rafael - United at home maybe - and I'm struggling to expect more.

We're not definitely sound and offensively we're lacklustre too; people may talk about missing DCL and other injuries, but I think it's deeper than that.

Unless we start to become far more consistent and ruthless, I can't see us dominating many teams and having many comfortable results.

I'd love Everton to be 2-0 or 3-0 up at half-time, go down for a pint and feel like 'We've won this!'. Firstly, I can't see the first happening let alone the latter.

Thanks to Rafael haven't felt this good about Everton for a while on New Years Day, 2022 is going to be fascinating
I wish I could share your optimism.
Since he came he has brought us to 15th in a league of 20.
Our recent run of results is the worst in our post-war history
Every team in the league walks all over us in midfield
He has sold or are about to sell the main creators in the team in James and Digne
He has loaned out our best left back prospect
He has not been able to tie up young assets like Dobbin
He has brought in Gray, Townsend and Rondon as 1st team choices

How do you see this as positive?
