I wish I could share your optimism.
Since he came he has brought us to 15th in a league of 20.
Our recent run of results is the worst in our post-war history
Every team in the league walks all over us in midfield
He has sold or are about to sell the main creators in the team in James and Digne
He has loaned out our best left back prospect
He has not been able to tie up young assets like Dobbin
He has brought in Gray, Townsend and Rondon as 1st team choices

How do you see this as positive?
Gray and Townsend, 2 of our best players, seen Brands out the door, started work in the medical staff, did well getting James out who would of happy took wages and looks to be getting Lucas out too, who certainly wont be missed.
Been hammered by injuries, had to pick up the mess Carlo left, so obviously the results have stunk. Its knowing we have a manger with desire to see Everton do well, none since Moyes have been so strongly connected to Everton as Rafael has, its important to him.

I'd love to think this is a glass half full versus glass half empty thing and that I can live with the idea that others see things very differently than I do. But mate, the above is one perverted, apologistic, obsession driven view of reality and events of recent months that I just cannot accept.
Maybe you need to see a professional?
seriously...

Can you get me some of the drugs you’re taking ?
£15 for 2 ?

That is a disgusting lack of consistency. Where did we finish? Awful management
Finished 10th on 59 points. So mid table on a decent points total. And even though football was poorer second half of season, it was still better points per game average than what this manager has achieved with us so far.

That's besides the point though. We were all buzzing this time last year for our league position and the poster is making out he is happier now than then.

Carlo was pathetic, 2 bottom half finishes but some expect Rafael to walk in and get a challenge for top 8 right away, delusional
Carlo saved us from relegation that first season and averaged 1.5 points per game. He came in when we were 15th and only 4 points out of relegation zone after Silva was sacked for us being bottom 3. (I stand by that if allardyce is deemed as having 'saved us', then so did carlo as we were in a worse position with less games to play when he took us over). He spent no money that window, and got us comfortably safe with this squad. 30 points from 20 games with a squad he inherited after spending no money that was languishing prior to him coming in. (Sound familiar as excuses being given to benitez?)

Second season we were top half pal.

I've never expected this manager to get us top 8. He should get top 10 considering that's the baseline from last season with this squad.

I don't think most fans are expecting a top eight challenge right away. I do think the real issue is that, from what I've seen, we've regressed under Benitez.

Are we defensively better? Are we offensively better? Which manager has had the worst run in nearly three decades? The squad isn't much different either.

You can think Ancelotti wasn't brilliant and still think Rafael is worse, well far worse.

I get that, completely. I think it was more to do with the irony of one person, who vehemently defends Benitez, moaning about people vehemently criticising him.

You could argue if a certain group of fans weren't so against the manager from the start then a group of sensible supporters wouldn't feel the need to come to the fella's defence as much?

I mean if King Carlo had been given £1.7 million to spend and had DCL out for near 4 months would he be hammered to the extent Benitez has?

No chance at all.

If people judge the fella after he's been backed in the window and given 18+ months to build his own side then their would be little argument on here.

Yet Kevin The Rat etc have no patience and wanted him oot from day one yet WE are the ones with an agenda!! lol
