For me it's a vital part of community, cohesion and identity. I understand where you're coming from as I could as easily be a somali as an englishman based on the lottery of birth but to me it's entirely logical and natural to feel a sense of pride in your town, nation, neighbourhood etc.

Millions of men have died to protect ideals like those and for pride in their country and most people see it as a massive part of who they are. National characteristics are evident immediately in a lot of people and you can guess where they're from just looking at them. If by some strange quirk we lost that it'd have a massive impact on societies. People (not just the EDL) react angrily when told they shouldn't feel that way or it has no value and thats where a lot of the anger comes from.

And from whom did the world learn the use of terror tactics ? From the Raj to Afghanistan to Indonesia to Somalia to Kenya. The British Empire.

And by the way there was no beheading on the streets of Woolwich. There was a soldier killed and the perpetrator said it was because of the British government are involved in killing of Muslim women and children.
 
Also would just like to add that you are ****ting on the work of our soldiers past and present by saying you don't care about your country and that you have no pride in it. People laid their lives on the line so you could sit in comparative luxury compared to much of the rest of the world so I find anti patriotism offensive. On a slightly related note Islam is completely against democracy and completely against integration however you look at it. Our forefathers fought to hard to let that kind of ideology creep in. Islam and Nazism aren't worlds apart. They really arnt.

If you want to talk like that mate we could go back to Ghengis and his red, white and black tents and beyond.

The world has moved on and you're talking about events from hundreds of years ago justifying our people being killed on our streets.

It's also well worth remembering that Muslim terrorists aren't just attacking us. They're killing each other en masse. Shia and sunni have been effectively at war for a long, long time. Girls are being attacked and shot in Pakistan in the name of religion.

Nik says it's not a religion of peace. I'd have to agree despite understanding that you could have said the same about christianity up to maybe 100-200 years ago. I also understand that a fair percentage of the Islamic world want peace as much as the next man.

Them that stood and fought and in a lot of cases died in the face of tyranny, evil, persecution and fascism? Those soldiers? Them that liberated the death camps? Freed Europe from the vice grip of racism? Those soldiers?
They did what they did against the likes of you and the rest of the crackpot extremists that are only interested in dividing society and throwing blame and hate and prejudice around like confetti. Shame on you, you boring little person.
