Nah just sick to death of it being ignored. 7/7 barely mentioned yet we have tv programmed and leading figures talking about ramadam which is followed by 5% (so they say) of the population.

Personally if you look at the world, where islam is followed to the letter of the law, the places in question are horrendous. I don't want that trickling over here.

It already is, weve got like 30 sharia law courts. As I already mentioned we are expected to adapt an accomodate them but I don't see it happening the other way round? This is a western country where women are allowed to wear skirts, where people can bum eachother and where (hopefully) race and religion is less of an issue than most other places. They cry racism and islamophobia but they seem to be the most racist and 'other religion-o-phobic'. Ask them what they think of jewish people, or women walking around in skirts in 'their islamic areas in England'. They are intent on non intergration. Simply not interested.

Where in this country is sharia law adhered to at all? They have no jurisdiction what so ever.

Playing devil's advocate for a moment - would the reverse happen if a large number of Christian footballers played in Turkey or Pakistan? Would they introduce champagne as an award for the dozens of Christian players that enjoyed drinking as part of their culture?

As islam is against alcohol and its not a religious requirement of christianity to drink champagne i doubt they would.I doubt they would if it was though aswell because they're not ruled by politically correct obsessives.
Stuff like that is just stupid and goes to far. They could just still have champagne for non muslims like. Also schools making everyone eating Halal meat so as not to offend muslims is going to far.

Why is it? If you're mass producing food, it's better to not piss people off who eat it.
It's far better to take a blanket approach to it so everybody eats halal otherwise it would be difficult to supply the right amount to Muslim students.

Yes but "pleasure" in that context just means not doing anything to mad excess, living properly, having good mates and being honest.

You can see why the early Christians hated it, and why Dante put the Epicureans in the sixth circle of hell.

Nik, on football stuff and general other stuff you seem sound enough, but with regards to Islam you seem to be on a bigotted one-man GOT mission to make us see how evil a religion it is, as if we are not capable of rational, balanced thought ourselves. Yeah but Dante was a prude. He also put in a fair few decent non Christians in the first circle.

cos its impossing thier beliefs on everybody to accomodate a few, If they want to eat it fair enough but don't be forcing stuff on non muslims. Is how I see it.
