Tbh this. Stones occasionally makes one of these too, but the cover is actually there to cover. This time they weren't.

Not overly impressed, but not an easy debut. He did well really, all things considered. A solid first game, hopefully he builds on it.
 
He was awful and I'm not even including the goal in the first half. Absolutely awful. Poor touches, terrible passes, missed headers, the lot.

However it's only one match and he's still adapting so lets give him a full season before we make any judgments. I think he could be a good player for us.

He was hardly awful ffs, I sometimes wonder what game people actually watch
 
Thought he was alright to be honest. It was clear Pulis targetted his side of the pitch due to the fact it was his first start and i thought he did fine. Whilst he was bad for their goal, Barry was worse so cant pin the blame fully on him.

But yeah, he was alright.
 

I actualy thought he played well.

Martinez tells his centre halfs to come out with the ball. Now and then they are going to lose it.

Our 3rd goal came from jags coming out with the ball, only difference between the 2 is gslloway blocked mori's vision of the 2nd defender who came in and took the ball off him.

The mistake was a combination of errors from 3/4 players, now thats team work

He wasn't awful. Not even anywhere near awful.
 
He had a decent game without excelling. One thing I can tell from this though is he will not be a dud and you can see a potentially very good centre half in there, that might take a bit of time to adjust to the league. He has all the tools to make it work though.

He is quite quick, quite tall, has a good leap on him and is comfortable in possession. He also looks like he has a good temperament on him and relishes being involved in a battle which will serve him well.

Yes he made a small mistake giving the ball away. That will happen, but people have to look beyond the odd mistake and look at his allround game, which is very good. To me he reminds me a lot of Vermaalen at Arsenal.
 

Second half he settled down and looked comfortable. First I thought he was always doubting himself and over thinking. Couple of times he'd begin to bring the ball out and then panic and give the ball back to Jagielka.

The goal was a mistake but it was the best kind - one that didn't cost us.

Needs to relax which will come with experience. I've high hopes still.
 
Thought he was very decent. Good in the and and strong all round. Got a lovely pinged cross field pass and doesn't mind coming out of defense with the ball.

Partially at fault for their first but he'll learn when he can and can't do that, just as Stones is.
