Referees v Everton

Genuinely think there’s a case for litigation if we go down by a point. There’s been a clear agenda, and we’ve already been issued an apology for incorrect decisions. Think they should as well
Was thinking the same myself but no matter how many points we are adrift. There is absolute proof that match officials have effected several of our games with what can only be described as deliberate and malicious decisions that have undoubtedly changed the course of games and cost us points.

There is no denying that we have been abysmal this season but i don't think we would actually be in the relegation zone without the corrupt officiating that has been inflicted upon us. If we go down, very dodgy officiating will have contributed to it and we should get legal advice and sue as many of the corrupt helmets as possible.

I hope you don't get the game you want if you think that's a red. Probably more of a case for a red against Alexander-Arnold in the first half.

It thought it was a penalty (soft but still a pen), and there was a case for Mane to be sent off too. I think the reason the penalty wasn't given is because the ref had it in for Gordon after the first half when he thought he dived.
It isn't in the referee's remit to "have it in for" a player. He's supposed to judge each incident on its merits, not on what has happened previously in the game, except of course in the case of persistent foul play.

Everything about VAR is shocking mate. Because he gave Mane a yellow for the first incident, VAR couldn't recommend a second yellow as it can only give straight red's.

What a broken tool used to benefit the elite.

I was under the impression that as soon as a player raises their hands to an opponents face intentionally, its a straight red. Is this not a rule anymore? If you pushed Mane back by the throat, its a nailed on Red.

Also, what happens if VAR recommend a check for a red, but the ref only deems it as a yellow on review, can he give the yellow, or must it be a yes/no response?

previous behaviour does when it's not clear cut.

I seem to remember when Son hunted Gomes down and tripped him up leading to the ankle break. When the red card was rescinded, it was pointed out that Son was looking for retribution. They stated that each decision has to be treated as its own incident and that no play prior to that can be taken into consideration. If this is true and they are looking at an incident and assessing who in involved rather than what happened, then that is as clear a case of bias as you are ever going to see.

Not sure what Frank is on about with 2 pens. The first one absolutely no chance. It's a dive clear as day. For me that's gone against him for the second one. Thats a 50/50 for me. Anywhere else on the pitch it's probably a soft free kick. Would have been a very soft penalty though and I'd be fuming if it was against us.

The 1st one there's contact but it's not a pen

The 2nd one is as clear as day, it's.embarassing that other Evertonians have to post pictures zoomed in to actually show folk like that it wasn't a soft pen at all. It can be given for the shove or for the standing on the foot.

So the referee/var can only see a dive and not the shove and the stamp?

The worst part about the second one was the ref not stopping the restart until VAR had checked the incident. The first one although very soft I've seen given and I'd guarantee if it was Salah or mane it would have been given.

Yes he should have waited.

Problem is this "clear and obvious" mandate that gets used as and when.

Second was a clear pen, he stood on his foot, even Souness and Carragher admitted it was a clear pen and you say 50/50 ??

Nah mate Dermot says that rule 37b applies " if said perpetrator is wearing a red shirt then no further action shall be taken"
