Recruitment this summer in the main was good but McNeil and Maupay are just not fit for purpose.

I still think in the long run Maupay will be o.k as 8-10 goal player. Might not be good enough for some but he was roughly 1 in 3 at Brighton and they were happy with that.

McNeill only scored once for Burnley in about 18 months so not sure what the surprise is. He's lost plenty of confidence since curling in that nice one at Goodison during lockdown.

Club will just have to keep buying low with ability to uncover a gem. Kudus scored a nice goal in CL but no idea what his consistancy is like weekly for Ajax. I'd have personally gone for Brereton Diaz but he hasn't scored that much for Blackburn lately.

Scored two just last weekend against Rotherham

If Maupay gets 8/10 goals this season I'd be concerned about our survival as I think it means DCL has barely played.

Maupay started games at Brighton alongside Welbeck on occasions last season.

I'd try him a little wider of CF with licence to drop in the pockets to get snapshots from edge of the box like he did v West Ham. Gordon/Gray the other side for more direct ball over the top option.
 

3 points off 8th, is another way to look at it, no point getting worried losing against United & Spurs - arguably wouldve gotta result but for pickford fumbling that shot.

These next few games will be a test to see where were at, think the XI needs freshening up a bit though

calvert lewin doesn't score many either?
