OK so I did some back of the envelope maths

Going into the last round of games on May 28 I can see the bottom of the table in descending order being
Forest 33( because they will beat Soton)
Leeds 31 (picking up a point at Wham)
Everton 31 ( irrational belief we will get 2 draws v Wolves and City)
Leicester 30 (dont see them getting anything vs Fulham(A), RS(H), Barcodes(A))
Soton 26 (Possible 2 draws at Fulham & Brighton)

Soton might be mathematically relegated after the Fulham game even in this conservative scenario.
Forest have an awful GD so they need to end a point higher than 2 teams +soton.

So to the last game of the season

Everton vs B/Mouth
Palace vs Forest
Leeds vs Spurs
Leicester vs Wham
Soton vs R/S

Forest the only one away from home but Palace lack a killer instict perhaps - draw - Forest on 34 Pts
Leeds could get a draw - Leeds on 32 Pts
Leicester could win - Leicester on 33 Pts
R/S will win - Soton on 26 Pts
Everton vs Bournmouth - a draw sends us down with Leeds and Soton, a win means its Leicester instead of us.

Most of the above permutations are based on the assumption that Forest beat Soton but the idea that any of these teams might pick up 3 points from an unexpected win in the next 3 games could make the final day very different. Every point is going to count here, the four above Southampton are not good temas and their opposition offers almost no 'easy' games.

Any chance Brighton playing United on Thursday helps us?
maybe if we were playing Sunday coz they aren't as used to twice/week games as other clubs, but they proved against Wolves that they have plenty of capable back ups
Although if Utd win their chance at top4 takes a huge hit which might help with motivation, dunno
We just need to be on it

Thanks. Hmm, no idea, I hope so. I will be exploring all broadcast options should relegation happen!

I'll give you minute by minute text commentary if needed mate at only £1 per sentence.

It'll go something like this

1m Everton Kick off £1
6m Goal Rotherham £1
14m 2-0 Rotherham OG Keane £1
45m Half time £1
Half Time 0-2 £1
87m Dyche makes a sub £1
88m 3-0 Rotherham OG Godfrey £1
Full time 3-0 Rotherham £1

Total owed £8

Everton taking a point off City while Leicester get nothing from Fulham does suggest you may be wearing your blue tinted sunglasses.

I think you need to take your Celtic cap off for a minute and stop singing YNWA !! Colemans loss is huge for the team, not just playing but the Morale he brings on the pitch, but what happened, happened and there's nothing we can do about that now except cover his position, and Patterson came on and done brilliantly, we're fighting for our lives and the last thing we need is abusing the replacement cos he played for Rangers.
It's getting beyond pathetic and sounds like something off a school playground.

Back the lad, whatever your misguided thoughts towards him are !!

Just a query, was this the same resentment when Gough played for us !!
lol lol lol

Please elaborate what justifies that nonsense...

Same. I feel like there's a performance coming from the players. It's certainly not over.

We have closed the gap on all of ther three other teams in our relegation fight in the last round of matches.

Do it again over the next few games and we are safe.

That's all we have to do.

Anyone saying differently is talking defeatist tripe.

The way things have gone the past few weeks I can't see us surviving. We need to win two games and that's if the teams above us only gain 3ish points in the run in.

I think you must of lost it for a sec m8 !!
maybe you need to read the post again...

I was saying anybody coming in to fill that position would have trouble as of the person they will be replacing !!!
Sorry mate. I took it another ay for some reason.

I apologise.

Is Leicester not in the relegation fight?

We are running out of games, we haven't got the luxury of complacency, we need to win games, it is fairly simple.

We need more points than those above us with 1 point more.

That is what we have to do. It'd be great if we could get 'wins' (plural) to do it, but in reality we could get 2 more draws and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if something like that kept us safe, such are the teams around us.

IMO we need 4 points to stay up.

It's not a 'great' point but last night was never a must win. The narrative that it was must win was - and remains - unhelpful really.
Well, we're going to have to win a game sooner or later if we're to stay up. Whichever way you slice it, last night was a must not lose.
