if you have spent the money we have, avoiding terminal decline culminating in successive relegation battles is pretty much a certainty, if you are well governed.

Leicester have been well governed. They're about to get relegated barring a miracle.

Most said the same last season after Palace. “We will learn from this“. With a Premier Leagur charge hanging over our heads, it’s unlikely the club spend serious amounts of money to improve next season, even if we avoid a transfer ban or points deduction (worst case scenario).

The wold turns and nothing remains as it was.

Everton will see a relaxation in what it can spend next season.

I don’t think we need loads to finish mid table in this league. A forward that is effective and can play more or less every week and we are there. If DCL could keep fit we wouldn’t be anywhere near relegation. The club are idiots for not finding a like for like replacement.

I think we need a lot more than a striker to finish midtable. So many of our squad wouldn’t look out of place in the Championship.

But even if you are right, and it’s only a competent striker we are missing to get midtable, that is still very difficult to find.

Clubs around us (and us too) have spent £20-£40m on established strikers, young and promising strikers and none of them have managed 5 goals all season. And that is assuming we have that money to put towards a striker or don’t receive a transfer ban.

I can think of two posters, who won’t be unduly bothered if we go down.

I’ll give you some clues :

One is cohabiting with a blow up Katie Price doll and wanders the wastelands of Widnes, seeking enlightenmen.

The other, has recently come back from volunteering for the Wagner Group, in the Donbas region of Ukraine and is busy smearing polonium, on the door handles, of pro Ukrainian groups in the UK.

And if we stay up who’s the happiest ……..

I think some believe if we stay up this time we inevitably suffer the same next season. That's not true.

It's sky sports. They need a final day drama even if they have to invent it.

Carragher has been saying since February we'll stay up. We get to a position where we can do that and he's npow saying we have all the pressure on us...because his emplyers want to sell this as a nail-biter.

There is massive pressure on all 3 teams, not just us.

But we will have to deal with the pressure and the nerves just like the other teams. We can't get caught up in the occassion or what is happenning at other games, but it's easy to say that, and less easy to do that.

Bournemouth have lost the last 3 games, West Ham beat them not so long ago at their place 0-4 so these are not great, we have to get at them and get the crowd ROARING US ON to an early 2-0 lead and the crowd cheers every pass every tackle whilst over at Leeds & Leicester they hear the news and all deflate and CBA thats what we want
