This nonsense of fan unrest causing Everton to palatable is hilarious. The reason fans are irate due to years of incompetence so I definitely don't blame the fans especially last year the fans were a major factor in us averting relegation and then the club to repay the fans has continued to push lies , false narratives and has not made any progress in rectifying systemic flaws in how the club is run. That puts you in the relegation zone and not many players are keen in jumping into the scenario.i think we are destined for the drop I hope Moshiris ineptitude doesn't get us dissolved as a club

Can you imagine him giving the same advice if he was looking at a £1m sweetener for him and tripling his clients wages ? We’re a car crash and I don’t blame anyone for avoiding us but the idea that everyone is steering clear of us for these reasons alone and to the detriment of their own financial well-being feels like a nice little narrative and a fair amount of BS.
Exactly this. An agent would send their client to the depths of hell for an extra 10k a week, they aren't swerving Everton because some lads chased a car, they are swerving us because we've tightened our belt and aren't handing out the stupid contracts we were a few years back. Sending them to Forest instead.

I’ll commend you on your working out and I suspect that’s why we’ve had kids out on loan and sold a couple of youngsters. Also , and this a compliment, you seem knowledgeable and very reasoned . I think I’ll maybe take some convincing we’ll break even this year . I appreciate we’ve shifted players but our wages are a huge part of our turnover and not matched by match day income not to mention sponsorship issues .

Next year If we lose a £100m and claw back a £100m which frankly I think you’re far too ambitious, but I’ll take your figures . Maupay on say what £50k , McNeill £70 , tarkowski £90k , Iwobi £100k , gueye £120 k and plenty more . Those wages aren’t sustainable but very likely nobody will buy them so we’ll end up giving them away or loaning them and paying half the wages to cut costs . All these players then have to be replaced , to give us any chance of promotion or being in contention . Look at Burnley , since we have their manager , it’s not a coincidence they loaned out their own big earner on the huge sum of £45k.

Even on your scenario I think we’d see a team potentially made up of youngsters, and ours aren’t good enough to have any chance of compliance and I think even then we’d be missing it .

Firstly I hope it doesn’t come to pass , secondly I hope you’re right if I does but I think relegation gives us a real chance of oblivion
Another great post nice one mate

The bolded bit is something Ive been worried about. Everyones well aware of the state we're in and will be lowballing us to death and we're gonna have no other choice than to accept piss poor offers for almost anyone we can sell. Its scary stuff.

Every club around us in the table has strengthened extensively with wolves pulling in a renowned manager, I just don't see dyche ball with our limp attack saving us like I stated before I think those tactics on the regular are starting to become archaic in the premier league. I know liverpool are having a dreadful season based on their standards some of it maybe due to injuries, over exertion and poor recruitment but I think it's also because teams are willing to take them on and yes like in man city game putting 10 players back can yield a positive result but that's a rare situation now that's not feasible for the course of an entire season. I think even Allardyce would struggle now

Those in the US will be able to watch all of our games live in the Championship next season right?
ESPN plus has the championship but the coverage is rather limited not like nbc with the premier league which covers games through usa network and the peacock streaming service. They might feature us more because were such an intriguing trainwreck to watch.

Thanks - re breaking even this year I'm taking the word of Esk who projects we will turn a profit this season. Not sure he knows as much as he thinks he does but he knows more than me! Basically all my other calculations are projected from a break even number this season, and what we would need to do to maintain that next season bearing in mind the loss of revenue.

Obviously the more we can get off the wage bill the better as it would allow us to invest in better value players. My calculation was just that it needn't be done in an absolute panic. My point was just that unlike years past we are not stuck with as many high earners and that most (not all) of our biggest earners are either leaving anyway (Mina, Doucoure) or have a good prospect of resale (Onana, Iwobi DCL, Tarkowski)- the Gylfis, Bernards and Tosuns of this world are mostly gone. Certainly some problems remain (rehoming the three returning loanees mainly) but if my calculations are right we could absorb a reasonably high wage bill for the first year at least.

I know the salary sites are unreliable but using Capology's numbers they estimate 80m a year and 7 players - Doucoure, Iwobi, Mina, Onana, DCL, Tarkowski and PIckford account for almost exactly half of that, before even moving on to the likes of Keane and Gueye. Those numbers may be inaccurate but as long as they are roughly in the right proportion that means we can more or less half the playing squad's wage bill by losing two who are out of contract anyway and 5 who would attract buyers without too much problem. Even if we only shipped 5 or 6 of those it's a huge dent. And you have to bear in mind that while Championship revenue is greatly reduced, with a parachute payment they're still pretty decent, and we will almost certainly have the highest revenue in the league.
