We need champions league form to stay up until the end of the season. We have won the least amount of games all season. It ain’t happening. The club know this and have been reluctant to spend in January. Due to this and players leaving in the summer. Dyche might have some cash to shape the team for hopefully one season in the Championship.

Erm, no we don’t.

We need to make up two points in 18 games.

We’re not buried.

Given we have Arsenal and Liverpool as the next two. We will more than likely be 5 points adrift or at worst 8 points adrift. To make that up we need to win three games. Given we have only won three all season we need Champions league form to stay up.

People on here were made up when Forrest and Leeds beat Liverpool. I said at the time those results were a disaster for us.

You're massively overstating what we need to do.

It's not a lost cause.

I’ll be glad to be proven wrong.
Don’t get me wrong, I feel the dread the same as everyone else.

But it’s still only 2 points. Don’t start totting up future results as a way to say we’re more than 2 points adrift, because we’re not.

We don’t need Champions League form. We just need to be slightly less terrible on average.

Its not just the club being reluctant to spend in Januarybut players will also be reluctant to come to Everton, its one of the least attracting clubs in the PL right now, Southampton, Forest and obviously Spurs have all stepped in on players, were not really a destination that anyone should want to come too.

But im still convinced these players are better then Frank had them playing

Wouldn't say CL form but we need top half form from now on in. Not that it makes much difference.

6 wins and 3/4 draws out of remaining 18 is all we need.

I think this is doable, we have 4 maybe 5 winnable home games (Leeds, villa, Brentford, Fulham and Bournemouth) and we have 3/4 winnable away games (forest, palace, wolves and Leicester)

I know with our current form it looks unlikely we will pick up any points but with a new manager and the crowd up for it all the games above we can win!

We are two points off safety, don't give up now still a long way to go.

That was one season, the freak season with no fans. 35 points is usually the bare minimum required.

I havent looked much, but over recent years 35 would have been pretty good?

Just had a quick look, you have to go back years for an 18th place team to get more than 35 points. That looks a pretty reasonable marker for safety.
