It really doesn’t.
It shows that they are still a very limited squad, lacking in quality. And it shows that one game doesn't turn a poor team into a good team. People went overboard based on 1 game, when we all know the proof will be in how they follow it up in games 2, 3 and 4 etc.

I can accept losing but I don't accept that sort of timid display where we crack under the pressure of a tough away game.

If I'd offered you 3 points out of those last 2 fixtures, you'd have bitten my hand off for them.

However, we now need 6 points from the next 2 no question.

I have faith in Dyche, he'll have left them in no doubt that last night was unacceptable.

No we don’t.

6 points from the next two games would mean we had 9 points from 4 matches, which is highly unlikely given our past form, and is also not necessary. That’s Champions League form.

As long as we tick along getting an average of just over 1 point per game history suggests we’ll stay up.

If people go into matches thinking any of them is a “must win” at this stage it’s just setting yourself for inevitable frustration.

I'd take 4 points right now to be honest. Although a win v Leeds and draw v Villa would be better than the other way around.

There should be no bed wetting from yesterday.

I feel it’s a bit of reality of what we may expect from a Dyche set up away from home. Keep it tight, try to avoid going behind and try to make your chances count.

Whatever happened yesterday for the opener, meant te game plan went out the window. It’s a place we normally struggle, home games will be where it matters, and let’s see what we can take from the less daunting away fixtures.

A lot of football still to play, and anything from Liverpool, Arsenal, United or Chelsea away was always going to be a bonus. So, if you can, keep positive, let’s get behind them and make Goodison rock on Saturday.

I agree but it´s beyond embarrassing that we have now resigned ourselves not even competing against our rivals. It´s not normal to just automatically write off one of your biggest games of the season but that´s what we´ve become.

I think these games are really important to set the tone for Dyche and show we´re going in a different direction to Lampard. If we get 1 point from 6 then the signs are that new manager bounce is over and we really are on the brink.

Wolves have just got 9 points from 12 matches.

They were below us 5 games ago

That was really meak last night. I agree there is no need to knee jerk given how we got 3 unexpected points last week, but that was still really disappointing. Lose to Leeds and I feel we are in big trouble. A point wouldn't be great, but not the end of the world.

The problem with the point is if we´re not beating them then who are we beating?

0.8 points per game so far. 22 games played, 18 points.

If we get 1 point per game average until end of season we finish on 34 points. But wait: We still play Chelsea (a), United (a) and City (h) - not forgetting just as tough games against Spurs, Brighton and no doubt Newcastle. But take off those first three games we are 100% losing and we have 13 games left.

We'll need to take close to 1.4 points a game from those 13 games to finish on 35 points, which you'd imagine is close to the very minimum points we'll need to stay up, but likely still too few.

We're not doubling our points-per-game and finishing on around 38/39 points. We're going down.
