scoring after 9 seconds helps you put up a better fight. Something to hold onto. Goals change games

Getting beat in the 97th minute after putting up a great fight may be a bigger body blow than getting beat 4-0.

At the end of the day it’s same outcome- no points.

We need at least 4 points from the next 2 games and Forest is a must not lose

Isnt that the whole point. They scored two there. We cant score for sh!t.
I like the positive spin. But thats mainly what it is. Spin.

Realistically there are now 9 clubs in the relegation zone.
Of those, five lost yesterday (Palace, Leicester, Leeds, West Ham, Bournemouth) and two won (Wolves and Southampton).
The remaining two - Forest and Everton - play each other today.
This game is like every other will be - Massive. Win and the table and our world will look a lot brighter tonight.

Palace and Wolves are too far away already, and a Forest win today will virtually assure their safety already as they'll be 7 clear of us with a game in hand.

It's 3 from the bottom 5 and I'd bet my house on the current bottom 3 being the ones to go down as they are absolutely crap.

As much as I don’t trust this collective of cowards to keep us up, it’s still in our own hands.

If Dyche can mix this up a bit and get rid of the loser mentality they have we still have a chance.

But, the weakest forward line in the PL is still for me what will send us down.

Going back to Wednesday night there where at least 3 occasions before Arsenals goal where we turned the ball over and had 3 on 3 situations. It dawned on me after the game that if Arsenal would have been in our position they would have scored 2 goals. We need to have better composure in them situations. Both Gana and Doucoure played the wrong pass or over hit their pass in the critical moments.

Right just for Info, if we win - don't be acting as though we are safe, and if we lose - don't be acting as though we are relegated for the x amount of times like the last 2 weeks or more lol.

This actually annoys me more than the people that say we’re down. Same as people who say “Bournemouth and Southampton are down”. There’s 13 games left, no one is down.

Our fate was sealed by the failure to get in a striker worthy of the name in the last 2 windows (I don’t call Maupay a striker). You’ve really got to wonder what Thelwell’s thought process was, thinking our striking options would keep us up.

We have once again set a new Premier league record by becoming the first team to be relegated 27 times between 3 and 5pm yesterday

Thats a very blue tinted specs view. Some might say blind.
Can we keep it simple. Bournemouth went there and put up a fight. We went there and stunk the place out. I think what it did is put to bed this bizare view that some seemed to have that bournemouth and southampton had gone.
Two very different manager talks. I can imagine bournemouth manager saying really great effort lads. If we fight like that rest of the season we might get our rewards.
Was dyche supposed to just say..dont worry lads. Water off a ducks back that you caved in and collapsed.

Strange view mate. Me personally i think its a concern. Then again i see such a toothless side i think we are gone. Hope im wrong.
It's not blue-tinted at all. It's fatalistic. I think we're gone. But - negative as I am about these players - the truth is Bournemouth got exactly the same as we did from their wonderful effort at Arsenal: sweet squat all. And that is a corrosive thought for them. They were great...and still got nowt.

Our idiots have expended absolutely nothing in getting the same outcome. Will it make a difference? Probably not. But they certainly won't be exhausted today after their sterling efforts at the Emirates, whereas poor Bournemouth might well be limping, mentally as much as physically, to their next game.

All of this is largely academic if we lose today. This is the acid test for me. As far as I am concerned, it's a must win. So, I'll be more relaxed about our fate come this evening. Lose and I will put to bed any mental notions that we'll escape. We won't. We'll be in it for a while, scrapping away, but this is a bellwether game for us. It will tell us what we are really capable of, drag a direct rival back, take us out of the drop zone - or do the opposite: set Forest free, cement ourselves over the trap door, and, basically, wave goodbye to the top flight.

Palace have taken 5 points in 9 games in 2023 and are 6 points away from the bottom 3, with 13 games to play. They are definitely not safe from relegation.

We'll be in the fight until we're not. But I think a win today gives us a great chance of staying up, while a defeat effectively keeps Forest out of our clutches and cements us in the bottom three. Truth is, we have only 13 games to save ourselves. We will play few sides as ordinary as Forest. If we cannot win there when we badly need to, I wouldn't hold out too much hope for beating some of the good sides we must face. So, losing doesn't relegate us mathematically or any other way, but I'll confidently bet that if we lose today we will be relegated later this season.

At the bottom none of the teams are going to play well every week or have any kind of consistency. So all this ‘look how Bournemouth did v Arsenal’ is a bit pointless as there’ll be another example of them getting absolutely battered in a fixture that Everton didn’t. If you’d team is having one of its good performances though you want them to count for points (like we did v Arsenal). Our rivals playing well and losing is good for us because it’s not an indicator that they’ll be playing at that level every game.
