What's that phrase if you circle the drain long enough you'll eventually go down?

I wonder if some people think that with Dyche we'll stay up and then be a mid-table team next season. I though we might have been a mid-table team this season after staying up last season. Unfortunately with both the players and the manager, the lights are on but there's no one home.

Although we're in the thick and sticky, we were in dreamland when we were winning those away games. Mid table security was nailed on until the points deduction debacle. That's when the manager should earn his corn but he's failed on that.
Blind faith is all I've got now. Those teams beneath us have found some form and fight just as we are due to play them. Playing those games at Goodison is a double edged sword. Put in a shift and the crowd will respond but if Dyche sets them up to contain then toxic is the word.

I'm tired of being mocked by my mates for supporting Everton. What's the point of staying up to remain a laughing stock?

At this point I embrace relegation. Best case scenario, the club fights back and renews its identity. If not, and it fades into obscurity, well. Look at the last time we had any relevance or came close to winning anything. It's hard to build a case that we don't deserve that fate.

I feel like I'm in the unhealthiest relationship of my life at this point. I just want to be shot of it.

you embrace relegation mate aye lol

i can’t and feel for peoples jobs!

As much as it may seem the lesser of two evils, being relegated is to be avoided by whatever means.
It's a totally different environment in the Championship and in my own blinkered view its appeal is down to going to the match with an atmosphere akin to a family day out. The boisterous feel of a highly charged home game that I experience at Goodison is absent and my fear is our fervour would be diluted outside the PL. I know that fourteen clubs are only making up the numbers in the top league but I'll take that every day.
