Do you think all our players have relegation clauses reducing their salary or do you think we have been that arrogant not to include them?

If the worst happens there is the nucleus of a championship squad there. The below would be pretty solid in the championship

Coleman
Keane
Branthwaite
Godfrey
Mykolenko
Paterson
Douc
Davies
Gray
Townsend
Gordon
DCL
Rondon
Dobbin
I hope they have a sacking clause.

Yeah I think that would likely be the nucleus of things, although DCL would also leave and I suspect we'd retain Holgate. I think the players we'd definitely sell would be Pickford, Mina, Allan, Richy and DCL. Even with a slight relegation discount there's probably close to £150 million being brought in, not to mention between them and the other contracts expiring an enormous saving on wages.

So there hopefully wouldn't be a necessity to sell our next best guys like Doucs, Godfrey or Gray. If you add to that squad a DCL replacement CF and beef up the midfield with some proper Championship scrappers, probably while spending about half of what we get in, and maybe loan a couple of good young players from Chelsea as Lampard did at Derby, I think it'd be a good team for that level with the player sales and wage reduction cushioning the financial blow a bit. I know some are catastrophising it a bit but realistically we'd be much more setup for a Villa style bounceback than any sort of Sunderland style freefall.
Players could ultimately decide to stay for a year. The club would likely still have the funds to sustain wages for a year. Newcastle did it once and came back up.

However, let's hope it doesn't come to that. It's really depressing we even have to discuss it

Yeah but if we lose to City and Palace win their far easier game then they just move further clear of us, opening up the gap before we play our games in hand.
It's true. But I don't really see them as relegation enemies

For me it's leeds, Brentford, Watford, Norwich and Burnley

What’s the GOT consensus on Frank if, god forbid, we do go down? (assuming Moshiri doesn’t hit the panic button again before the end of the season). I assume we’d stick with Frank in the Championship? We can’t keep having this managerial revolving door.

Thanks for confirming; didn't think the City and Spurs games were our ones in hand

Good time to play Leicester, they look terrible and we should be beating Newcastle at Goodison

I think Leicester look alright tbh, deserved a draw against Wolves there. Look far better than us anyway.

Got to be kept. If we do go down it'll be all to do with the mess that was created before he arrived, he is the right man for the job no matter what happens. And of course he has experience at that level so we wouldn't be replacing him with anyone better.

I hope we keep him if that was to happen (but dont see him leaving anyway unless like you say we get rid), we will finally get rid of players we didnt want, while you will get one's who say they care about the club etc leaving as its the money they care about no matter what they say

Agreed but you’d have to include Newcastle as it stands too.
They're scrapping and grind results, have had a lot longer to get used to Howe too.

Statistically yes but my opinion personally thinks they will be ok, against my wishes, as I want them down
