Relegation

You could throw Kenwright into that mix as well, almost certainly had an influence on recruitment (eg Rooney’s return), and telling everyone on your list what an Everton player “looks like”!
Yeah, you’re absolutely right! Plus you have to imagine all the assistants, and Unsworth as far as promoting youth to the first team goes, had some input, too. Not to mention the shady characters whispering in Moshiri’s ear.

It’s why I couldn’t understand the resistance to a properly-empowered DoF from some quarters of the fanbase. We’ve desperately needed a singular driving force for recruitment for years, and that’s finally coming to a head thanks to the crisis of this season.

I like watching lower league football as well, but relegation will be a total and utter disaster imo. There's no two ways about it for me.

We are a fallen giant of the game, but our record as the club with most seasons in the top flight, still gives us some sort of stature in the modern game.

People say relegation is good for a rebuild and a reset, but that's a nonsense argument imo. It's way better to rebuild and reset the whole thing, while still being a premier league club imo.

The championship is a very competitive league, we could easily be stranded there for a good few years. Relegation has no positives to it at all!
Can’t be allowed to happen, we would not come up for a while

I would rather Norwich win, it's not going to help them in the long term stay up and it can help take Leeds down.

Aside from that I've been away today and just come home and seen last nights scores, and it made me feel much better about the situation seeing Watford, Leeds and Norwich getting futher into trouble
If Norwich win, they're 2 points off us. The last thing we need is more heat creeping up on us. Draws would be perfect. People keep bringing games in hand into it, do they realise we have to play and win them?

Speaking of games in hand, it's weird that the other games STILL haven't been rescheduled yet?

Football is a fickle game Newcastle a couple months ago seemed destined to face the drop now they look relatively safe. Just need a decent run and the fears will be alleviated. I know that's easier said with our putrid form but the man city, brentford and leeds games have been encouraging. Home form is crucial

Other results are going our way at the minute, which is great, but we need 4 points in the next 7 days I'd say to capitalise

Home form has been generally good under Lampard, but both fixtures aren't easy ones. If we come away with two wins, I'll probably stop worrying too much - anything less than at least one win and I'm going to be convinced we are heading down - that's how frayed my nerves are at the minute

Last night showed the gulf in quality between the bottom five teams who are stinking up the league on a weekly basis, and even midtable fodder like Villa. This could be a seriously low points tally that could mean safety this season if these kinds of results carry on the way they are going.

We need 4 points minimum from our two home games against Wolves and Newcastle and we can't afford a defeat at Vicarage road after that . What is most galling about this squad of wasters we have is that they don't even know how to draw games. We probably need to average a point per game to survive, which is such a dreadful standard to set yourself but that's probably all that can be expected of this atrocious group of players.

I agree it’s annoying but it could be a good thing for us, we should have Mina back now for last 9/10 games which could be huge for us.

The fixture pile up for us could actually work in our favour, other teams with nothing to play for may have switched off by then if our games are towards the end of the season.
