Somewhere Walsh and Brands are having a cheeky giggle for conning Moshiri into where we are.

Can blame Brands and Walsh all you want, but the reality is, Moshiri had his hand in the jar more often than not.

That summer with Koeman and Walsh, should have been everyone’s red flag.

A fella who panicked into Allardyce, appointed Benitez and then tried to get some Portuguese lunatic on the advice of Kenwright from 2013.

No key player injuries + Brentfoprd defeat was the priority today.

We're nearly there on those two objectives.

Then we leave it for 2 weeks and reconvene the hard fight to come.

I'd like to have won today, but I must say I'm not that arsed in the grand scheme of things.
Brentford?

We’re not overhauling them. We’re finishing seventeenth or lower. No chance we are overhauling anyone above us.

One thing is for sure, if we manage to survive this season we really have to sign a mobile, tough, tall centre back who has some leadership qualities. I think really to have any chance of surviving as a premier league team, in the medium term, we have to use as much of our budget as we possibly can to sign such a player. The rest of our many deficiencies can be addressed with what is left after this, be it with loans or free transfers, but, we really have to have a dependable leader in there.

I look at Brentford though and dont see them sliding right past us in the coming weeks. It is a nightmare foixture list they face....and we have 3 games in hand.

This Brentford situation is going to be as important as Burnley.

We have a killer one too, and that’s my concern.

Two of our games in hand are away to direct rivals, and not sure how we beat them.

I agree though, every side around us losing or drawing if against each other.

I can’t remember a more dire scenario.

These biggest games in in 20 years fixtures are now almost one after the other

I think 33pts does it so we’re looking for 2 wins and 2 draws from 11 games

I don’t think we’ll win again this season.

If we do, maybe 1 win at best. Possibly scrape 3 draws max. Even that I’m not so sure on, the team really is that bad. They are already relegated in their own minds.

You’re not wrong, but it’s not just one mage.

We need about 5-6 leaders on that pitch, and it feels like we have none. It’s plagued us for years but now we’ve not replaced our players who haven’t kicked in like Holgate, and it’s really showing.

Youre right, we dont have one single leader that either grabs a game by the bollocks or can organise a team on the pitch.
You look at the number of times players are out of position/make the wrong choice/jog bloody back and a real leader would have them told every single time.
Top top level teams can get away with a smart captain as the team can near play on autopilot, but we need a growler always have done and always will.
Not having a single one in a squad of 30 is criminal.

I think Brentford are very much in the mix. The away games we have against Watford and Burnley are critical. It’s desperate and a long shot but we could really do with Mina being fit for the last 6/7 games to give the defence some semblance of authority.
