Don't think he should of played yesterday, he was carrying that arm injury like it was about to fall off.
If it was that bad, he shouldn't be playing.

If we get to the semi's of the carabao I hope we go a full change in the FA Cup against Rotherham and play a full 2nd string side.

Would be foolish risking the likes of Richarlison, Doucoure & DCL

Sort of right, but I'd just jettison the City game myself. I think we should prioritise cups at this point.

He's just been banned for 3 games, what are you talking about, he looks knackered lol
Still travelled to S.America during the two international breaks.

No point having a squad if you aint rotating in the busiest period of the season - if his hammie bursts people will be the first moaning that Carlo should have rested him.

I'd agree if he hadn't just had 3 weeks off

He's played 3 games in 7 days against tough opposition where he's had to be up and down the pitch for 90 minutes - if we dont rest him in either of the next 3 him and DCL will have played 6 games in 14 days (and not just games where they have jogged around against lower league rubbish).

We cant really rotate DCL as we have no one but I'll be bemused if we play Richy the next 3 and chance him pulling up with a muscle injury when you have Anthony Gordon chomping at the bit to try impress.

I'm an advocate of playing your best team available, resting players 'just in case' they get injured makes no sense, we are in the business of winning football matches, we don't win without Richarlison for a start but you play your strongest team always, in my opinion.

These are highly trained full time professional athletes, they don't need resting.

Games like Saturday's are why he won't be going to a top level club for 80m pounds or whatever people think we should ask for. You can't play out wide and give the ball away as much as he did and he often does. Now if he is playing up top that kind of thing might work but he's playing wide pretty much full time right now and as a wide player he has flaws that I think will turn teams off.

Nah, Richarlison always has a go when he plays but right now not everything is going his way. I feel that because we know just how good he can be, we expect him to be killing it week in week out. All player have their 'off period', we just have to be a bit more patient and sell the useless prima donna in January.
He’s had these inconsistent spells before, every season he’s been here actually, and his season with Watford when he scored five early on and never scored the rest of the season, he’s overrated although he did look in pain on Saturday, when he was being substituted he looked like he was walking to the gallows going by the agony on his face.

Yeah, doubt he will be going anywhere for 80m.

100m+

His effort levels and physical contribution both defensively and going forward are thankfully near enough a given every game, which is why his base level of performance is so high, relatively speaking.

He hasn't been frustrated and throwing strops, getting sent off etc because he's been playing great and everything's been going fine though. He knows right well that he's been crap in front of goal and hasn't exactly set the world alight on the creative side of things either. He has been absolutely nowhere near his best so far. I also don't think he sees himself as a left sided forward either. I think he wants to be a striker and is also frustrated that he's been played "out of position."

I think the debate on whether his best position is on the left or up front can be put to bed now. He doesn't have the shooting, crossing or passing ability for that position to be his best. I'm not even sure he has the pace. He's regularly opting not to take his full back on in games and pass it inside because generally they're all rapid and he knows he can't get by them (see Reece James as a good example). He's a striker, albeit a very different kind to our first choice, DCL.

None of this is to say he can't do a great job on the left though, regardless of how comfortable he is there. He's had the chances to bag either way and he'll get more.
