Bottom line is we need a viable replacement for season start. I doubt Richarlison will be available for first 4 matches due to fatigue / quarantine etc. Think that is best case scenario…. Risk of long term injury due to Cops / Olympics is high….. whether you think he should go or not … season start is harder without Richy / James etc. We have some decent fixtures but at this point I doubt we have the team to take advantage of it !
Shouldn't even be considering releasing players for an Olympics. Its not a major tournament and we shouldn't be paying players to miss our own matches.

I'd be happy if we cashed in on him now whilst his value is high. If he was playing for someone like Chelsea, I'd imagine he would already be out the door. He has never been consistant enough for me. The odd flash of skill every now and then doesn't cut it for me.

that would be a reasonable point of view, if we were actually investing in the playing squad - we arent though so we cant afford to offload players who show they can win games sometimes.

if he stays i mean hopefully he will stop saulking when he is back. If we make sure we improve our forward line i think we should rest him for the 1st three games in August (maybe on the bench), he should be fresh after that

It’s supposed to be an U23 tournament for the Men’s side, with 3 older players allowed hence why they selected Richy. Among the other older players featuring include
France - Florian Thauvin and Andre-Pierre Gignac
Japan - ex-Southampton defender Maya Yoshida
New Zealand - former West Ham defender Winston Reid and Burnley’s Chris Wood
Spain - no older players but Simón, García, Pau Torres, Olmo and Oyarzabal are all joining the squad after the Euros along with Ceballos and Asensio
Brazil - Dani Alves is one of their older players, Gabriel and Douglas Luiz are also in squad

Richarlison is a world class player in his own head right now.....had he produced consistently last season i'd give him special treatment to keep him happy.....currently I'm not arsed about feeding his ego....tell him we pay his wages so he plays for us, if he gets upset, fine just sell him....haven't seen us turning down any bids yet this summer..
Its not a major competition so I wouldn't even consider releasing players if it means they will miss league games.
