2020/21 Richarlison

To be honest I think he's exactly the sort of player the fat Kopite rat we now have in charge is fond of - when fit and engaged. At his peak he's very hard working, versatile and is excellent in transitioning play. He can play interchangeably across the front three.

He’s going anyway … would sulk / pout / be “injured” if we didn’t let him go …. Should make his Oly participation based on signing a longer term with no raise or better buyout price for the club when we ultimately have to sell…. Everton has never been a long term spot for him in his mind

It’s supposed to be an U23 tournament for the Men’s side, with 3 older players allowed hence why they selected Richy. Among the other older players featuring include

France - Florian Thauvin and Andre-Pierre Gignac

Japan - ex-Southampton defender Maya Yoshida

New Zealand - former West Ham defender Winston Reid and Burnley’s Chris Wood

Spain - no older players but Simón, García, Pau Torres, Olmo and Oyarzabal are all joining the squad after the Euros along with Ceballos and Asensio

Brazil - Dani Alves is one of their older players, Gabriel and Douglas Luiz are also in squad
Richarlison isn't an over age player. To compete as an under 23 you need to be born after 1st of January 1997. Richarlison was born in May 1997, so isn't an over age player.

Blame him?

Quite agree. Fabrizio Romano said on his Twitch stream that there are plenty of clubs interested in him, but Benitez would be talking to him to try and make him stay. Can’t say I’m bothered if he does or not as I’ve never made any secret of my stance on him.

Strikes me as the kind of player we could sell, reinvest, and actually improve as a team from selling. Much harder to replace DCL.
He wanted off last summer but Ancelotti convinced him to hang around... Which is fair enough, he probably thought we where actually going somewhere.

Different situation now.. He's already butted heads with Benitez and the club over Olympic duty... He's almost engineering the move already.

I like him, I'd rather him stay but I'll lose no sleep over him leaving. He's was one of the players I was looking at to step up in the last 15 games when we where actually in with a shout of not only CL but Europa league and he did nothing.

I know people will say "well there is 11 players on the pitch" but you look to your top players and he just didn't produce.

….don’t sell your best players & Richarlison is a top player. Some Everton fans don’t like him but I guarantee opposing fans and players detest him more because he carries threat. When we win big games, Richarlison has been centrally involved in goals.

I like him lots.
I agree. I think the frustration the fans have with him, is they we know we have a real talent in our hands, but he seems to pick and choose the games we’re he puts the effort we know he is capable of. We are undoubtedly a better team with a fully focused Richarlison in it.

that would be a reasonable point of view, if we were actually investing in the playing squad - we arent though so we cant afford to offload players who show they can win games sometimes.
I was heading towards re-investing the money into a striker who can be arsed.
