Almost like someone doesnt watch the 90mins, only highlights.

Ah mate, no need , its good to debate, no need to personalise, my point was an observation and not intended to insult, i myself am prone to a grock so have my own bias., I respect and enjoy @TheBigIguana opinion and take on all things Everton, I often ask him for his thoughts, we agree on a lot of things, but not all, but that’s healthy, he’s a poster to respect.;)

Sure, Evertonians imo go too far though to the point that it almost feels like we don't think skill matters. And at this level it really clearly does.

Every single player in the PL are in the tiny % of players good enough to earn a living at it. Some are more skillful than others, obvs, but every single fan of every single club bemoan a perceived lack of effort before a lack of skill in their players.

Just the way it is. We will forgive anything, other than a lack of effort.

It's about culture within the club. You can sign anyone and make it work if you've got the right processes in place internally.
I agree on that. But, where does it come from? Who is responsible for it? I mean yeah Morshiri has spent a fortune and we are no better off, but is he really the problem or is it more down to what was already in place before he came along? We can bring Bill into the equation here, but it isn’t just him is it? Yeah, he has been around a while, part of the furniture and all, but the problem started before him if we look back and he just lets say fitted right in. Unfortunately, for me the only answer may be when we get new owners and they make a clean sweep. The stadium is a move in the right direction to achieving that.

You need the balance of skill, but also the effort desire and fight in your team.

You look at Utd squad, on paper it’s an incredible squad packed with talent and skill, but they can’t win football games because everyone wants to express and execute their talent, but no one wants to win the battle to earn the right to execute and express that talent.

Football essentially is a game of balance, in so many ways.

but no one wants to win the battle to earn the right to execute and express that talent.

Exactly. Again, citing Reidy and Keane, both said, kind of, that if the oppo want to play football, fine. If they want a battle, fine.

But you have to earn the right either way. Slaloming back to Richy, he does that. Or tries.

good luck to the fella if he leaves,
nobody can doubt his comittment.
he only stayed this season because he wanted to play in the olympics and lets face it if he wants to play in CL and win things
it probably aint going to happen here!
i can see him going to madrid if they dont get other targets.

I think he is away in the summer, hopefully he moves out of the Premier, wouldn't like to see him tormenting us for years to come. Realistically I am pleasantly surprised he has stayed this long given we have done nothing to help him fulfill his ambition to win things. He has tried hard for us in what must have been some very frustrating circumstances, particularly when he was going back to play with Brazil with good players.
Hopefully one of the big European teams pay us a Kings Ransom and he goes on to win Champions League medals and a clutch of domestic medals. Good luck to him, unfortunately Everton's ambitions and his are very different.

For us Moshiri is the problem because he stays too involved and doesn't let people do their job. Bill doesn't help I'm sure but Moshiri isn't going anywhere soon so he's going to have to take steps to fix it himself first and foremost.

This is where I disagree though, we (meaning Evertonians generally) tend to perceive every loss as a lack of effort and it just isn't like that.

No, we dont. We, like every UK footie fan, will accept a loss, but we will not accept a lack of effort.

We might lose cos the other team were just better, or a crap ref/VAR decision, or an individual error. Caution from a manger even. We will moan and fume, but thats normal.

We lose cos a team/player isnt arsed? Different candle mate.

If you take what you read on an Internet forum as the opinion of the fanbase then maybe.

Some of the losses this season have been inexcusable. And the manner in which we’ve lost some too.

But really, no one could accuse us of lack of effort if we lost 1-0, 2-0 whatever to Liverpool, City, Chelsea etc. and no one does. It’s the losing 4-0 to Palace, losing to Norwich, losing 5-0 to Spurs etc. when people (rightly) accuse the players of not being up for it. We have poor players but they’re not that poor.

The Spurs game for example though was absolutely not down to a lack of effort. That's what I mean.
