Can it actually get any worse? I think there's only one way for Martinez to go, and that is up.

And I'm not doing this to be controversial, I like the man, there is something about him and I am dying for him to succeed, maybe I'm soft and would hate him to lose his job as we all know he is working hard to build something here. I just him to acknowledge his wrong-doings and have that same inspiration he had two years ago. I've got a soft spot for him as he's a really nice person.

Yes you witness this since the start of last season. On what ground and evidence that convince you there is only a way up? His records are pathetic since the start of last season.

And now Martinez is blaming everyone for crap results but not himself. He does not learn obviously otherwise we won't see the same stuff again and again. Not winning matches and he is clueness when it comes to defending.

It is my experience of life that no matter how bad things are, they can always take a turn for the worse.

And even if we hit the floor, that floor might well contain a trapdoor.

So yes, things can actually get worse.......and up is not the only direction Bobby can go.

The in count on the poll seems to be lowering!!

The Ins are people who have not changed their vote. Or are not changing it (which I respect).

Would be interesting to reset the poll or see what's been changing since West Ham for example maybe? Only picking that point because that's when I changed mine to Out.

And to make the poll public, so you can see where the GOT lifers stand on the point.

I think there's a fair few on both sides of the poll of Rawk lids piling in, I reckon. But mostly on the Ins, like we were with the last days of Brenda. Best chance of ruining us short and long term is to keep Martinez.

Same here.

West Ham done for me and Inchanged from in to out.

Chelsea reinvigorated me and I changed my vote back again.

But after Arsenal I crossed back to no for good.

But.....like you say, some people haven't changed their actual vote despite changing their opinion....I am one such person.

And I think you are spot on.....a re-set poll would make for vastly different reading.

I doubt Bobby would get into double percentage figures right now.

I want to like him, I want him to turn it around, I want us to win the FA Cup in May. I want to go back to the 13/14 football style.

I just can't see it, and he is giving me the impression of a man who "played the fiddle while Rome burned". Perhaps that's over-dramatic.

'Everything's OK', d'ya know what I mean?

He's not been good enough, has Martinez. He's got flaws to iron out. I'm just not into sacking willy nilly. I think there has been positives from Roberto, but we just need to tighten up a bit more.

I think, as a club, we've been a shining example of patience, And it's done us no harm at all.

Exactly - Very different characters indeed, and if Moyes could patch it up with Duncan after being sparked by him, then I see no reason why the situation is lost between Martinez and the current senior players.

It might well be lost, but it's obviously not beyond repair - unless Baines is gonna knock him out :p
Sacking Martinez wouldn't be willy-nilly? Have you watched our games this year? Good games you can count on a hand.. A good manager doesn't trade league for cup form. A bottom half manager might. Hence the other clubs outside of the top teams winning a cup sank- Wigan, Fulham, Birmingham. We can admit we don't have the resources of Arsenal/city/utd/chelsea/RS but do we say we're the same as Brum et al? That a cup is worth such terrible league form? (Although I'd probably trade 1 year of bad form for a cup- must state we aren't even in the final yet)
Yeah 72pts may of got us CL certain years, but this points total would have us relegation threatened other years. That is simply not good enough. The few clean sheets tell a story in itself nevermind home form or league points total.
Sorry MB you're bearing the brunt of my feelings against Martinez. He's a lovely chap but that's not what's needed.

off to work now, when I get home I expect someone from that boardroom to have made a decision and issue Martinez with his P45, big Dunc and Sheeds caretakers until the end of the season. Baines captain for the day tomorrow, Lukaku on the bench, if he doesnt want to play, he can watch

Please don't be too upset if none of this has happened.

You may just be being a tad optimistic there. Just a tad.

@oldblue, something like this would have been nice in the last 2 seasons, no?
I mean it sounds fine but it's so close to what Martinez said it would be ridiculous to praise or criticise either manager on the back of it.
If anything he's being just as committed to his own methods by saying maybe he's just not getting them across.
It's all the same media trained stuff, designed for soundbites. We've got to be better than judging players or managers on this surely.
