The board are just as bad here. They know the results and they're still Sittin on there hands! If Martinez is given another season I refuse to go. Not that I don't love Everton but he's sending me into a spiral of depression every weekend.

Yep, it's hard to get emotionally behind anything that constantly lets you down. I mean obviously Everton have done this for most of my life, but not to extent they do under Martinez, if we go 2-0 or even 3-0 up it's never meant so little in the context of 90 minutes when he can't be trusted to hang onto it... if we win a game or even 2, the customary 4 steps backwards come around way too quickly and with inexplicable polarity.

There's the normal level of jaded a fan of any club can get, and then there's this next level stuff we are seeing which is absolutely killing any optimism or atmosphere.

Talking to Necastle fan,I said it looks like the drop then, yes, he said, think you will be joining us soon, Is this how others see us ?

So he'll happily walk away, giving up a 3m per year wage, to avoid getting then sack and a payout, with no job offer on the horizon.
I see.
They don't get payouts any more. They get paid until they find a new job, Chelsea started it a while back. If he wants to sit around and get paid then fair enough but he won't.

Im really bothered by how Mirallas has been a key figure for us for years then all of a sudden now is a nothing player. And he always played his best on the left side cutting in.

not that many positives and if his comments are to be believed the biggest positive will be on his way soon.

2 cup semi finals. The emergence of Stones and Barkley, and the trust placed in them. A record premier league points total. Getting to the knockout stages of the Europa.... And, as you allude to, spending £28 million on the hottest young striker in Europe, getting 2 (3 if you count the loan) good seasons out of him and cashing in for a tidy profit when nobody else was willing to pay £28 million for him - Rodgers, and the kopites thought they were the bees knees for getting Mario for £12 million less.

All positives to me mate. Which ones are negatives?

If we did get relegated I would be disappointed if Roberto then turned around and said 'the job is beyond me now' (like he did at Wigan). Like you, I think he needs to remain our helmsman, even more so in the choppy waters of the championship league.
He would be gone if they really thought relegation was possible. Only manager who has survived that was Moyes. Think that was a very different relationship

Young players he has developed to get to this level.

Hes had to turn around a squad on limited resources in a couple of seasons.

Loads of players not good enough but taking wages who will be gone this summer...

invested in youth and stopgaps.

Etc etc
Resources not that limited - spent money on Lukaku, McCarthy, Mori, Niasse

The team he inherited was solid for years. Was just missing a goalscorer. He did really well to bring in Lukaku. But has neglected defence and isn't adaptable in his style

He's made some good signings, built a strong squad. But morale is clearly at a low

do they get paid if they walk away themselves?
Probably not but I can see at as a mutual agreement where he is not wanted any more but is allowed to say he quit. We'd probably keep paying him something.
I'd give him nothing anyway as I feel he's stolen enough from us. We should report him to the fraud squad.

You don't think he has a better squad then Moyes? Don't see how that can be disagreed with.
He has a better squad - he's done well to build on an already strong Moyes team - and done a very good job of bringing through young players. Shame about his tactics though - clearly frustrating the players - can't imagine they'd be looking forward to another season of that
