I'm on my way down to Watford and seen Jamie Carragher at my local petrol station. I asked him what he thinks about Roberto Martinez and whether he should keep his job and he said if he wins the cup then he should stay on. He also acknowledged about our chemistry but kept saying 'but if he wins the cup'. Thought Carragher knew football?

And you didn't chin him anyway? Pfft! (n)

Quite a few now. Ive seen 4 saying they dont want to win the cup....double that saying they want him sacked so someone else can win the cup (?!?!?) and quite a few more again wanting a loss to watford.

You need to question them as people really. I mean if we had a manager everyone of us despised who won te league for us then we'd all be thrilled....or would we ;)

What's with all the shock over a different manager winning the cup. Surely we'd have a better chance than with a manager boasting a 30% win ratio over the last 2 seasons

Nobody despises Martinez really he's just the wrong man

The opposite of your blind all forgiving love for him is not hate

Finally, I don't see why you would question anyone as people for wanting the best for Everton.

Just because there are different opinions on the best way to achieve that doesn't give you the right to question their character because you've got a little audience to cheer you on.

It says more about you than them

Red wants underperforming Everton manager to stay

No way

I firmly believe that Martinez is going to be replaced as soon as the season ends if not before. I believe this has been the case for some time but the Arsenal game cemented his dismissal.
Another capitulation could oust him at any time as could a semi final defeat.
I hope the team rally and get some good results in the remaining league games and win the cup so that he can leave with some dignity. I want that to happen but I fear the Baines incident may have alienated the players completely.

Of course that gobshite wants us to keep Martinez all my red mates do why?

It's quite the possibility though. Both happening is likely.

Hand on heart I don't think we'll win the cup. But only because we're playing crap.

We obviously might though. It's only playing well for 2 games. Could happen.

I struggle to believe our board, not that we know much about the new chap, have the balls to actually sack him.

But. You'd hope so. As it's all a bit messed up at the minute.

For me the most likely thing is we get knocked out in the semi, which will hurt again. And he goes in the summer.

Agreed. We're probably not gonna win it, we've got a chance though, knock out football is strange.

It shouldn't change the long term ambitions of the board though, they will be looking at the bigger picture.

In all honesty I've just reread what I wrote there and even I don't really know what I meant.

Water off a duck's back :) I'm more jealous he is close and gets to go to more games I have.
It's ridiculous comments like the above though that stretch my ever thinning opinion of some our mainly younger fan base even more.

I'm fortunate enough to have had the means to watch Everton regularly both home and away for many a year now. I see it as a privilege.

Others haven't been that fortunate, but for someone to quaff at their support or opinions simply because they do not regularly attend annoys me.

Yes watching at GP does give you a different dynamic be that the atmosphere, the subtle things you don't see on TV or the whole experience.

And sometimes that experience does add extra perspective in certain arguments, but that doesn't mean our opinions worth any more that yours.

In fact, I know some ST holders who are utter buffoons and their opinion hold little or no weight as they regularly watch with their blinkers on.

We should be wanting to expand our fan base and bring people into the fold... not pushing them away because of their bloody post code.

You'd hope so. I have real fear that the board really love Martinez and they've already got this into the new man.

No harm in a bit of fan pressure showing otherwise though.

Ideally we just win every game forever then there's no problem.
