Or opinions that have been arrived at, drawing quite heavily on stats and facts. And as the facts change then so do opinions - suspicious of anyone banging the drum on the same viewpoint over a long period of time, seemingly regardless of any facts. The guy Davek on here is laughable for that reason - can he be brought back??

It doesn't have to be deliberate. Have you ever worked fora totally incompetent boss and just thought "why am I here? What's the point?" and you just can't be bothered to put in anything more than minimum effort.

Brilliant - you've been sniffing the sherry again haven't you. First thing that has genuinely made me laugh in this otherwise depressing thread :-)

What makes you believe you will see a new Martinez going forward all of a sudden, as opposed to what we have seen for a decade?

On the face of it it's self defeating behaviour - unless it results in quick exit of a manager and things subsequently improve. Happened at Chelsea although hasn't improved hugely there performance wise. In any event it does look unprofessional - players like Hazard have been tarnished by it
 
I'm now on the fence, I was wavering after Man U, just couldn't believe how tactically inept Martinez was in that game, someone said "It was as if Martinez just put all the players names on bits of paper and threw them up in the air, and then played the players wherever they landed" Couple that with the West Ham game, Arsenal (spineless performance) the strange tactics, weird sub decisions, and probably one of the biggest things, all this stuff that has happened to Baines, the more I looked at it, the more it just looked like he was hainging Baines out to dry, while Lukaku was touting himself around Europe, and getting away with it.

As my wise lad pointed out, you have to look at everything Martinez is doing in the whole, not game by game, decision by decision.
