press conference now..
Thing is mate, I'm not blindly defending him. Results haven't been good enough, and I really can't get off the fence as far as he's concerned.
Maybe I just want to see positives? It saddens me and hurts me the way things are at the moment. This could be such a big, big week for us, but the atmosphere doesn't reflect that.
Martinez;
5 wins 8 draws 2 losses
Even if he were to mirror this unreal set of fantastic results, that's 23 points.
46 points from 33 games, it's not what you'd call stellar. In fact, it would currently leave us, er, 10th.
I just don't know who he is trying to fool here.
Bit of a straw man argument that mate. Our away form is very decent. The real worry is why we can't seem to be getting wins at home. I'd expect most clubs would expect to be picking up at least 5 or 6 more wins at home than away.
“James McCarthy is back from suspension so that will be a clear difference from the squad we had at the weekend.”
We won't. We're relying on city losing at Newcastle today.
Not to excuse him but I think his point is that our away form is 7th best in the league with games in hand however the home form is 19th
Only a can't be arsed villa team have a worse record so its all academic
When Wigan got relegated did he say "yeah but look at the football we played" or the amount of possession they had ?
Barked naked facts are we have regressed under this muppet and all he doing is desperately and rather crudely talking up his achievements which is piss poor in the last two years
The man is on the edge....just needs a little push so who's gonna oblige Morshiri or uncle Bill ???
And the emotional Spaniard said: “It is the lowest of lows. I never expected this to happen. It is difficult to describe the feelings. When you walk into the dressing room after this match it is heartbreaking.
“I don’t think you get many managers saying they are proud of their players when they get relegated.
“The group of players we’ve got here are an incredible bunch. They don’t deserve this. We don’t deserve to be in the bottom three. You will never see a better group of players than these in the way they play and represent the club.
“The FA Cup is an achievement we will never lose as a club, it is our first silverware but it is a real shame it happens in the same season as relegation. It’s a tough day for the football club.”
Instead of the FA Cup run, Martinez blamed defensive injuries for conceding 71 goals this season - the worst in the Premier League.
23 pages since I went to bed last night...amazing.
We're doing mathematics that's far to complex for you Americans in here, go back to bed mate.
*too
Incredible - tick
Don't deserve it - tick
Never expected this to happen - tick
Never see a better... - tick
You could cling on to hope that he is learning, adapting, improving etc with a view to Christmas next season, but when he's been doing and saying exactly the same thing three years later...

lol lolSoz, you're right. My bad.
Chatting to a Wigan fan in work about how pissed i am with Martinez... he turned around and said "has he blamed the weather yet". He said the majority of wigan fans where sick of his excuses and in the end where happy he went because it was too much.
"He blames everyone and everything but the root cause most of the issues".
The biggest job he'll ever blag and you just know it'd be Everton to give it him. It's just so bloody Everton.Chatting to a Wigan fan in work about how pissed i am with Martinez... he turned around and said "has he blamed the weather yet".
