Tickled me too!

That could be a debate worthy of its own thread - why is it a dressing room at a footy club - its not in school or when you take your kids to the baths, or in the park footy clubhouse they are all changies???
Or more suited to Bills other business venture lol

Even now I listen to him and nearly believe it, then you take a second...

"We were the last british team standing in Europe last season." - We got hammered by a second rate Ukranian side.

"We've shown we are capable of beating anybody." - By 2 years of beating nobody?

"We've reached a semi final and competed for silverware!" - We blew our best chance for silverware in 21 years.

"Judge me over 3 seasons" - We f***ing are!

The old saying is `if it isnt broken dont fix it` Martinez had a good squad, that is what gave him a great first season

He then destroyed it by using his Wigan back room staff, falling out with Distin and the team doc, bringing in Alcaraz and his Wigan specialists as replacements.

The amount of hamstring injuries are alarming, he admitted not practising set pieces. Barklay and Coleman look shadows of their former selves

Howard was clearly done yet he insisted on playing him, even after Robles had some great performances.

Lukaku lately reminds me of Kevin Campbell/ Yakubu left alone up front disjointed from the midfeild

The one player who gave his all and loved Everton he sold and bought a turkey .... for 13.5 million ....

And then we have the media interviews where he believes he has taken us forward and we are better off for his philosophy ...

The table does not lie, Martinez has recorded our lowest points in our history we have headed backwards alarmingly under his management
Yet he fails to see this ` judge me over 3 years` ..... I would love him to explain what he means by this statement

That first bit doesnt make sense though because the squad WAS broken. He got another year out of them and pushed on somewhat with some new additions. Beyond that though the squad was creaking as a fair few of them passed their point of usefulness.

Barkley has improved under Martinez, I dont see how that is debatable really. He has gone rubbish the second half of this season but so has everyone.

Naismith was never quite good enough. He would have been made not to take the money on offer for him. Is Niasse a turkey? Well who knows? We aint seen him play much.

No the table doesnt lie and we currently lie in midtable. Not at the top, not down the bottom. He has recorded or lowest home points total (well he hasnt yet, the season aint over..) but you dont win something for having good home form alone.

I have no idea what he says in half his statements to be honest. All footballers talk rubbish though.

I keep sounding like I am a Martinez backer and to be honest I'm not. I am just trying to be fair to him when I see some stuff said that is a bit OTT.

I can't recall who said that being a football fan is akin to "being in a lifelong unhappy marriage without any possibility of divorce" My relationship with Everton is like that. I keep making excuses for them, keep rationalising their disappointing/unacceptable behaviour, and come back for more time and again.

"They'll sack him at the end of (last ) season"
"They'll sack him after the league cup semi final"
"They'll sack him after the derby embarrassment"
"They'll sack him after the F.A. Cup Semi-Final"
"Theyll sack him next week"
"They'll sack him in the summer"

I invest time, money, love, energy into Everton. I do so because it is a big part of my life. I want to see the club I grew up to adore to strive to be the best, never settling for 2nd or worse. This is a pipe dream. I feel if I could have 30 seconds to speak to the baord from the heart, they would see how much I and thousands of others care so deeply. Martinez would surely be out the door then.

Nothing at all against Martinez, we are just stuck in such a bad situation at present - toxic is the word used - do the decent thing not least for him and send him on his way, Everton.

There's a lot in that. I have to say what has been distasteful this week is the suggestion that the Hillsborough tragedy may have kept him in a job. Seems a bit of a low blow.

After the derby defeat he should have gone. Giving him the Wembley game was fair enough but that should have been it after Wembley. Like West Ham did with Avram Grant. Losing 4-0 to Liverpool in the manner we did shouldn't be tolerated. You have Martinez coming out and giving press conference saying we had a good half (a 1-1 draw) against a poor United team. It embarrasses the club and will only be alienating the fans further.

He is making out we are getting better and better. I think Martinez would have won himself a lot of plaudits if he'd have been a bit more frank and dare I say honest in his press conference. He has lost the players anyway so alienating them further won't do much. Something akin too;
"The result against Liverpool remains an embarrassment. The players had an opportunity to rectify this on Sunday but only turned up half way through. I won't tolerate this any longer if I remain as an Everton manager.
Come the summer there will be big changes and those who have let them club down will go. My teams will not play for half a game when it suits them, and I will get in players who want to be here and want to win."

In management they always say, people will forgive you if you try to tackle a negative person/culture and fail but won't they won't forgive if you not dealing with it and ignoring it's there. Lukaku swans around like he doesn't want to be here. Stones carries on like a kid in games this season. I get no impression that either have been challenged on this. That's not then mentioning players like Mirallas' antics, Barkley & Deulofeu being too unfit. Is it any wonder that the senior players have lost faith in him?

And in the press conference there is no urgency whatsoever. He was honest after the Liverpool game and I appreciated that but a week on and it's back to normal again, having lost a cup semi final. He's a nice man Martinez but we will go nowhere under him.

But if the squad was broken, what does that say about his ability to refresh it?

Howard, Coleman, Hibbert, Baines, Oviedo, Stones, Jagielka, Osman, Pienaar, Mirallas, Barkley, and Gibson. 12 first team players still here 3 years later. That's half the squad, and most of them have been given new contracts. Why have we kept so many players if they're all past their point of usefulness? And does it make sense to sign players like Barry, Eto'o, Alcaraz, Kone etc if you think the squad is 'creaking'? Why add even more older players if you think the squad is too old?

In my opinion, the addition of Lukaku alone should have been enough to see us move from nearly men to real top 4/cup challengers. Instead we've slid down the table and got no further in cups than we were before he came. He's failed, no two ways about it. And - despite what he'd have you believe - he's only got himself to blame.

I'm firmly of the opinion that Martinez knows he's gone! That being the case I am struggling to see what can possibly be gained from him being in charge come Saturday, or God forbid through to the end of the season? Saturday is a PR disaster in waiting, the powers that be must be aware of what may (or may not) happen on Saturday, so why continue on earth continue with this charade?
