So anyway, this "top manager" that's "defo" coming in during the summer:

we have Koeman and De Boer and eddie Howe and Mark Hughes to choose from.

Moshiri must be selling his metal company shares off to fund one of those for the certain glory they'll bring.

They all probably have the required *ahem* "skill sets" and erm "stuff like that".

:coffee:

The point Davek is missing is that they new manager doesn't have to be someone who has already won titles in a major league, although it would be advantageous, they just need to be better than RM, which isn't hard.

They need to be someone who can instill organisation and fight in to the team. A manager who actually believes in organising his defences, making sure his players are fit, trains set pieces and admits when the team plays bad so you know he's going to address the issues and doesn't just talk like a delusional muppet in press conferences.

A manager who has the ability to finish in the top half of the table when they have a 20+ striker along with the likes of Barkely and Del in the team. Someone who is going to unite the players to work as a team and fight for each other. Who has the intelligence to change our system to suit the players he has available to him, rather than stubbornly stick to a system which isn't getting results.

A manager who can earn the respect of the players and give them the confidence and belief in themselves to fight and win games. A person who will admit when we need to improve, someone who is pro active instead of reactive in games.

Most importantly we need a manager who can make the fans believe in the team again.

De Boer was a top drawer player and he'll attract a way higher calibre of player than RM because of that and Bergkamp will help attract players too. Just because De Boer is relatively unproven doesn't mean he's not a top drawer manager.

Better to have an unproven manager with a lot of potential and a top drawer record as a player than a proven failure in Martinez.

The problem is dave is you talk about Everton as small time but Mr Moshiri obviously thinks about Everton as something else.......why is it not possible to bring in a distinguished manager? Because you think it's not possible? And if I was Mr Moshiri I wouldn't give Roberto a penny as we'd end up with 11 Niasse's.......remember him?
He doesn't say anything to my knowledge. He's not said a word beyond some bollocks about giving all he has...brave man if that means to Eddie Howe.

Jose and Pelligrini, and to a lesser degree, Emery have all been mentioned, with Pelligrini the most likely.

But sure why let the facts get in the way and all that lol

Not with us he hasn't been. It's a false analysis. It'd be like saying we should judge Pellegrini after two seasons out of the CL places with us and saying he was the right man because he did it with City.

No, it isnt. If Pellegrini, as your example, came here, and we progressed within a similar trend that City did with him, then that would be a good thing.

In the exact same way that clubs at serious risk of relegation call Pulis or Allerdyce.

Managers have trends. That trend is generally similar at all the clubs they manage, with the amount of cash/talent at their disposal being the parameter within where they actually finish.

In short, Pellegrini, your example, would get more out of a £200m squad than Martinez.

I think you underestimate how much they lie when they say they don't read it...if you don't read it you become subject to being out of touch and that'll see you down faster than anything. They'l have a section that hate on them no matter what but you should take some notice of the general consensus. Not necessarily commenting on Martinez here as he does seem to be out of touch but just celeb/famous etc. people in general.
I wouldn't read it lol

Concise version: "get the next new flavour in, this one's gone stale".

If we get rid of RM then the next manager has to be a PROVEN winner in the industry with no doubt that they can secure a trophy or two very quickjly.

If not we may as well stick with RM

How about a 'Davek in or out poll'?

If voted 'out', postings restricted to 5 per day - and filtered for intelligent content to prevent time wasting :)
