Was me a while back.

Ultimately, it's misplaced loyalty IMO.

What's on Bobby's CV that shows he's capable of taking Everton to a top 4 place?

I mean, compare him with Tony Pullis...

In his defence, the pro Bobby posters would say he had to cut the wage bills at Wigan and kept them up for two seasons. And a trophy for the club too (but won't mention relegation) For me, he had no track records to prove he can lead a big club like Everton. The league is always the priority. Two medicore seasons will be enough to prove our regression as a top-mid tiar club in PL. Now we are a midtable team.

This, in response to me saying the worst Chelsea side in a very long time?

All that considered, they're still, the worst Chelsea side in a long time.

We're at home. We desperately need the result. Let's go and win this one...

They've improved a lot though. It won't be as easy as the 3-1 game, which was by all accounts a walk in the park really.

Also, on the second point of us being better than the rest, what evidence is there of that? The only one of those teams we've beaten this season is Reading. Do you think we're better than West Ham and United?

Don't be silly Dave, we win trophies here likes it going out of fashion don't ya know.
You'd think so. Ultimatums about sacking managers of this club for only getting SF spots and midtable.

I you didn't know any better you'd think we were a financially doped club spending half a billion on the squad and coming up short.

The Chairman and largest share owner I feel sure will bring some sense to this debate.

Moyes won nothing in 11 years and almost drove us over the cliff he had United heading for...he got a free pass. Strange.

Here's a scenario I've just made up (bit of fun, fume at it if you have to).

The Everton board are rocked by the 14/15 season. They have huge talents like Barkley and Stones and the premier league is finally in a state of open turmoil after Ferguson's resignation and Ciry keeping a big side out the top 4 every year. Despite this we are in a relegation battle and finish bottom half. Kenwright has watched Moyes control everything for 11 years on a low bet spend, now suddenly players aren't happy and are making it vocal, 30 mill was spent on a striker and we went backwards.

Kenwright being the man he is though decides to give Roberto the benefit of the doubt. The 15/16 season starts but the old habits creep in. There's fan discontent at the board that Roberto's failings are antagonising, there's fan discontent at the manager in unprecedented never before seen levels, we're still bottom half despite a number of new players coming in. The defence is getting worse and player unrest is in the air again.

Kenwright is watching all this in shock but is also working on the investment deal with Moshiri. Can he really hand over Everton to this new combo of manager and owner?

Not knowing what to do he puts in a phonecall to his best friend in football. They never stopped talking. 'David what do I do?'. Suddenly Moyes is available though. The job at Villa, turned down. West Ham, turned down. Swansea, turned down. Sunderland, turned down. Newcastle, turned down. Moyes openly admits though that he's turning down offers from Europe as he eyes a return to the premier league, but at what club? Baines Jags Mirallas are on the phone to him 'what's happened to our form gaffer'. And then in a few rare to interviews he starts dropping subtle references 'Everton would be a great club to go back to'.

Moshiri wants a manager popular with the fans to cement his new ownership and restore solid league form. He's no expert in managerial hiring from his time at Arsenal so leaves it to Bill.

He makes one final call on the last day of the 15/16 season after an embarassing finish of 13th. 'Please come home David', 'Aye Chairman'.

Think about it. Think about it. It could happen.

So did Steve Bruce, Paul Jewell.

Do you not think we're better than Palace, Watford, West Ham...?

Our piss poor results against them, is why Martinez is facing criticism.

I'd even say our starting 11 is as good as, if not better than United's.

I dont think that has much bearing on attitudes if we reach Wembley.

If we go further in this cup and keep the New Year form up - where we've only lost 4 times in 14 games - then it's easily enough to settle things down.

Next season: start with a new keeper and strengthen that defence further and we're in business. There's not an awful lot wrong here. the football can be superb and we're scoring bucket loads.

Our league form since the turn of the year is actually still quite crap

Played 9
Won 3
Drawn 3
Lost 3 - defeats at home to Swansea, West Brom and West Ham.

12 points out of a possible 27 is rank average in my book, hence why we are in 12th.

Misplaced?

I think It's hardly misplaced for people to look at the good things he's done and proven both in terms of progressing youth AND with a team all fit and in peak powers.

So did Steve Bruce, Paul Jewell.

Oh yeah I agree. I think the only thing Martinez can do to buy him time is to win the FA Cup. The league form is about consistency. Thus, I don't believe he can suddenly turn this all around and get say 6th/7th. Of course I want to be wrong.
