If only Jagielka could sort out our defence we'd be a lot better off. He's garbage as a leader.

I dont see these leaders mate. I honestly dont. I see an Everton team after defeats like last week's game look down at the ground and mope off the pitch rather than look angry and pissed off determined to fix matters. The only one's who look like it hurts to be defeated are Besic and Mori - and both are infinitely suited to the armband than that quivering jellyfish Jagielka.

But you have to admit you look at it with martinez tinted glasses. you deflect any blame from him onto the players or the fans while simultaneously giving him exclusive credit for the record points season

The figures are for a season mate and they tell a real big story. I'd be happy for you to put forward some alternative explanation as to why we've conceded so few away and yet leak them at home. I'd really like to hear that.

As you said there: away from home and in certain games at home this season the glaring errors aren't there, which doesn't suggest to me anything sytematic is the issue. The issue is a very straight forward one to understand: these players brick it at home and lose all positional sense and fight when the going gets tight or tough.

Because we're more conservative away from home.
We score slightly less away from home too.
29 of our 51 goals have come at home because we are more adventurous but we also get punished.
We are slightly better balanced away from home and play on the counter but we're not brilliant. We still have only 5 away wins.

I dont fail to criticise Martinez. For me he made two massive errors in the last two seasons:

2014/15 - we wasted way too much time and effort on the EL. Martinez's ego took over and he wanted to prove his credentials there and it near destroyed the season.

2015/16 - retaining faith in Howard when Stevie Wonder could see he was single handedly wrecking our performances.

Both those failures were costly.

Still, he brings way more to the table as a manager to offset that: style of football, goals, great instinct in the transfer market. The squad he's assembled are good to go now and I expect him to be given enough time to prove himself with them...or he may even manage them this season to a cup win.

So people are saying he's defensive and not accepting any responsibility, but just saying that a full on Goodison will be exactly what they'll want to see is 'blaming the fans'.
And using phrases designed to make it sound like there's no other opinion out there is kind of childish and does hint at determination to be right when the bigger picture is turning up and getting behind the team even if you think there's a need for change.

I have no idea what message you are trying to convey there but know this.

Last week's fiasco unfolded in front of a full Goodison Park which was raucous and very indignant after seeing us reduced to ten men after twenty odd minutes.

Any anger in the first 80 odd minutes was directed at the referee and the booing was for Noble.

The ten men were being roared on at a high decibel level.

Martinez brought the house crashing down around himself the minute he stood up and chucked an extra attacker on.

It was bugger all to do with those of us sat sitting in the ground, the much maligned paying customers who have been traduced by people like your good self on this forum all season for daring to express their dissatisfaction at certain things they see on the pitch, most notably the unreasonable adherence to a goalkeeoer who was costing us goal after goal.

The myth was shattered last week.

Bobby took a ten gauge shotgun and blasted himself in the foot without any assistance from us.

So please stop blaming us.

...not that much more conservatively that it's a different system we adopt.

We were crap in the league mate because we got figured out. We tried too much to retain possession and it cost us time and time again.

Our performances in the EL were glimpse/prelude to the counter-attacking style that we have deployed (to some success) this season. Ultimately it doesn't work as well at home as it does away/when it does (like W.Ham on Saturday) we (the manager and players) threw it away.

Just read what Moshiri has to say in the programme. Great football and good luck for the game against Chelsea.

He has only been with the club a few weeks and he is more of an Evertonian than quite a few of you on here!! You know, the ones that want us to get beat tomorrow so Martinez gets sacked. The ones that wanted the likes of Benitez or turncoat Moyes to manage us again.

Hang your heads in shame and don't even watch the game tomorrow, leave that the true blues who want us to win.

I don't feel so good. Does this mean I'm in the cult *shiver*

Again you're equating Anti-Martinez with Anti-Everton. I would never wish Everton to lose regardless of what I think of the manager and I know I'm not alone in that.

You want us to win, but support a manager who doesn't have us winning?

Surely the people who want a change are the ones who want Everton to actually win games. That's why they want change.

No one wants us to get beat at all, that's just you trying to put words in to people's mouths.
