Stop bullying Dave.

If I'm bullying Dave ( which is debatable ) then I don't have time to thread ban you.

Anyway, on topic, I don't know anyone who actually wants us to lose today. In fact, most of the people who aren't happy with Martinez would be made up if he started winning games on a regular basis against both poor and good teams.

The margins on a lot of the games we've drawn or lost have been pretty small, so the problem is fixable, it's really just a question of how long Martinez is given to fix it.

Only as bad an example as one substitution proving anything in a game we are down to ten men.
I'm certainly not suggesting people are turning up tomorrow hoping we lose but one person who wants Martinez out posted something that if you lay it out simply was... The atmosphere was great because we were one nil up and annoyed at a sending off, then something happened we didn't agree with... and that was that.
If people choose to be optimistic on the back of improved defensive performances over a series of games then good on them. People want to get so wound up about a poor substitution that they stop getting.behind the team. Up to them.
Chelsea will cause us problems today, players will make mistakes, you got to assume both managers will too. Up to us how we react during the match but personally I think unbridled passion and optimism never did much harm.

You learn alot in the face of adversity and id much rather have positivity than negativity.

Just imagine if Evertonians all backed the team and manager we wouldnt have the negative press now hanging over the club when in fact we should be in the media for the Moshiri news.

Surely, despite the majority wanting the Manager gone, nobody will be cheering on an Everton loss today.

No but it is a nice way to deflect away from bad performances if you can just say people wanted us to lose (when in fact everyone who wants Martinez gone want it so we can start winning games again teams that aren't in the bottom 3 again)

If we didn't have the negative press he wouldn't be under pressure and he would carry on with his philosophy regardless of where it left us

First of all the question of fans wanting Everton to lose was asked answered and dismissed at least twice yesterday. Nobody has said that.

What teams have we really put to the sword. Sunderland, villa, Newcastle. A real collection of gems. The unfortunate results list is a lot longer and to say it can be rectified is a huge assumption as he seems incapable of rectifying it in the last 2 years.

Why do you automatically assume he's a Howard Kendall rather than a Mike walker where's the evidence to back it up?

5th or 6th is Europa league, yeah pain in the Arsenal but useful for improving UEFA coefficient and getting the clubs name out there.

5th or 6th is also about 9m in prize money that's a lot of wages.

And the better we do the more live games we get next season. At 1 million per game shown that's essential.
It's a very short term view to say it's 1st or nowhere

Anyone who wants the manager sacked when hes building a squad and we have NEVER looked like we were outclassed this season (ignoring the Utd game when we mourned the passing of Kendall) has a short termist viewpoint.

This is clearly due to watching Moyes 5th and 6th (lets ignore 17th shall we) placed finished which got the club absolutely nowhere at all....

Martinez is building for a lot more than this, the players he has brought to the club on a VERY LOW expenditure compared to other clubs are of champions league quality but need development.

If they do not have Martinez then what is the attraction to stay, to finish 5th or 6th? Absolutely ridiculous, they need to believe in a vision which Deulofeu and Lukaku have already said they do and one would imagine Barkley does too not to mention Besic, Mori and others.

By suggesting that finishing first as part of an overall vision which takes time to develop is short-termist is perhaps the most bizarre response i could imagine. How could taking time and sticking with a manager who the players believe in be considered short term? Thats just bizarre.

If you fancy re-hiring moyes or a similar clone to finish top 6 with dour percentage football then thats up to you but i think anyone with any knowledge of the game can understand that Man Utd and Chelsea are undergoing periods now of transition and based upon the clear facts we are too (just look at the change and ages of the playing staff signed).

Its quite obvious that going from a team of veterans to signing young players to develop is a long term approach with a higher ceiling....perhaps we just change manager to mourinho and sell these exciting players to buy veterans again and finish top 6 for 3 years before he leaves us with another ageing squad and then hire Martinez mark 2....then get twichy, fire him before hes finised the rebuilding process and rinse and repeat bouncing around 5th 6th again.....totally pointless.

Thats how to make the club irrelevant...so for good measure perhaps lets wait till the summer and bring in the "dream team" of benitez after he gets relegated with newcastle and eddie howe...

As for people admitting they want us to lose today thats unlikely but a great many posts on here suggest otherwise.

Just imagine if Evertonians all backed the team and manager we wouldnt have the negative press now.

It's not a case of "imagine everyone backed the manager - problem solved", the fact that people are not backing the manager itself shows something is not quite right at the moment. You can't ask people to stop, the manager has to make them stop through results and performances.

No wonder we get [Poor language removed] off the rs when we get Everton fans arguing and saying other blues want the team to lose.

Absolute beauts

It's not just that Chris.

If one wants to read hateful bile about certain Everton players, about the matchgoers at Goodison, about the Everton chairman and indeed about the Everton manager, one need not go to an RS forum to read it......it is all on here on a daily basis :(

I don't think anyone is seriously saying Moyes is better, it's more then likely just a reaction to some folk who say that he was the worst manager to ever walk the earth. Moyes was extremely flawed In his tactics and to blind and far to set in his ways to ever change or comprise in any way, now who does that reminded me of?! I'm not for one second saying I would want the guy back (good God no!). I just find it amusing that the people who hate Moyes the most are nearly always Martinez's biggest supporters, could it be that you hate our ex manager that much that you would overlook ANY faults of our current manager? Certainly seams that way at times, from some at any rate. There are none so blind as those who will not see, comes to mind.

My argument against both is the same. Too dogmatic. Albiet in very different ways

Codswallop. Some people think he should be gone and that opinion is being respected.
What's not been respected by some Blues is that other people can say they'd rather the fans were behind the team on the day whether things were going for them or not, and it's perfectly valid. Some people are talking about themselves as though they are the fans. You're just fans
