It wasn't at all hard to work out. Don't confuse not agreeing with not understanding.

We did not get anything for reaching the semi of the League Cup. We are out of the League Cup. That's over, simple as. We might still get something from the FA Cup but reaching the semi and "doing well" doth butter no parsnips. If getting knocked out at the semi final stage is "doing well" in a cup, then I would prefer to go out earlier and concentrate on getting a better league placing - more prize money at stake. The Cups are great if you win, but nothing otherwise.

No. I didn't say anything buttered any parsnips. You've completely understood what I was saying.

This isn't an age thing at all. Any Blue who cares to open his or her eyes can see the true picture.

We've lost 4 of the last 5 home league games. That is a damning stat when seen in the context of the rest of the season and is not worthy of any Everton manager keeping his job, let alone one who last the most talented squad for many years at his disposal.

Whoa whoa whoa, Stoke at home would be tricky for any manager...

Er.... and west brom at home...

Palace?

Lads?

He's a nice man who seems to genuinely get Everton and that means he has a lot more people wanting him to succeed.

Ultimately though capability will be the deciding factor. There's two things that can gain him goodwill and time and that is the FA Cup and Anfield.

If he does make it through summer the his ability to keep hold of our best players will be as important as who we bring in.

I think he will win both and still get sacked by the owner as part of a clean sweep which sadly will not include Elstone.

Make of that what you will.

How confident are you of a result in either?

Stutheblue, that profile picture alone. Look at Bally in his pomp. Since Reid I haven't seen a midfielder to match his sheer determination and will to win. McMahon maybe, who we should never have sold. And what a turncoat, **** he turned out to be. Who played today could even rival that? That's what great managers do, they surround themselves with great players. Yes, perhaps we missed Barry today, but in honesty do you think even if we had "one of the greatest English midfielders of all time" it would have been different. Too many games over the last two seasons say no. Comparing this side to the 80's or even Royle's "dogs of war" has become redundant. At the moment the jury's still out whether they'll be able to best, Latchford, Thomas, McKensie and King.

We didn't get relegated with Mark Pembridge playing for us - I don't think we are in any immediate danger of relegation just yet.

Not immediate but over time if we carry on this way without changing manager. Difference between Smith and Martinez is only one of them have experience getting relegated in this league.....

WONGAAAAA.

Oh, and Leicester haven't signed 'great' players and have done pretty well off the back of that.

That's the thing I don't get. We haven't spent a penny and yet we all have some hope that we are suddenly rich?if like to imagine the money will be used intelligently instead and it gets put into places that will generate money on its own rather than just on the pitch.

Also Leicester proves why changing manager is important when things aren't going right, over shooting sure but even st the very least they have got top 4 this year, west ham have a chance as well and both got rid of their managers rather than settling for what they had.

A manager's personality is usually reflected in the attitude of his team and this is one of the most frustrating things about Martinez's Everton - we are too nice by a long shot.

We need to get mean again and it isn't going to happen under Robert.

Have our standards dropped so much that a win at Anfield is a major factor in keeping a terrible manager?

The FA Cup is a completely different entity to the league. Ironically, he himself proved that an FA Cup win certainly does not save a season.

Win the cup or not, the league is the barometer for the season, and for two seasons he has took us backwards.

Losing eight home games and conceding more home goals than anybody (with a chance to make that record even worse with four left to play) is completely unacceptable. Any other club would have seen him given the boot months ago, we will follow suit. This fraud of a manager's time is running out.

Hey my man @davek I think Baz is talking to you @ the 2 minute mark :)

I like his videos just for the fume..

can't argue with one word.

and if that's a fume it's the most restrained fume I've heard for a long while. what it is is the judges summing up before he dons the black, or in our case blue cap.

* in the manner of the opening credits to Porridge...Roberto Phenomenal Martinez. etc etc ending with the big
'CLANG'

Taxi

also; Cardboard box for Mr Martinez's possession as he clears his desk...(or should that be 'possession'? yeah, take your 'kin possession with you too)
