Was it insanity when LFC sacked Dogleash?

No, it made sense.

Mourinho sacked abar half a season after winning the league. Di Matteo months after winning the Champions League.

Sacking Martinez even after a Cup win would benefit both parties. We'd make a big leap forward, get our trophy and he'd leave with a modicum of respectability intact.

If he gets sacked this season he will never get near a job of this size again.

Of this size?
I'm sure the likes of Stoke would have him. With the money in the game now, they are on a par. No doubt.

You see mate, imo you're seeing it all wrong.

He will change things. Drastically. Because he now has what he had in short supply since he joined. Cash. More importantly, cash without sales.

You're acting like the model hasn't changed. Didnt you hear? We now have a billionaire owner. Raw youth isn't on the agenda anymore. We can attract proven quality.

Last time Martinez had proven quality in their prime we finished 5th.

No friend, I think you're seeing it all wrong.

Money isn't the issue, not even remotely. Money won't enable us to defend. Money didn't even make us finish 5th in his first season.

There's even a song about it, 'we had no money so we signed the players on loan'.

The money argument holds no weight.

Spending 35 million on Andy Carroll is a sackable offence.
The same Andy Carrol who knocked us out of the FA Cup and scored in a win at Goodison?

I'm playing devils advocate here, I don't think he'll be sacked on the back of a cup win. But I think calling it insanity is too stronger word on the other end of the scale.

What's your tipping point?

....with a well-drilled defence that has since had the life sucked out of it.

Rubbish.
If that's the case, how are City now consistent PL challengers? Has Abramo's money not turned Chelsea into something they weren't before?

Money equals better players. Simply.

Christmas this year.
Martinez has brought in a quality GK, a CB, a Barry heir and a quality playmaker. Not bothered about who.
After spending, i dunno, 60million, if we are still languishing then I'll be in the opposing camp.
