Kudos for the analogy...spot on mate
He's not as in this case the team can actually change what happens on the pitch... They're not robots. They can make decisions for themselves.

^^^^this. His tactical substitutions are so all over the shop that I hold my head in despair. Only people like Dav-ek understand them...and that lends me miniscule resolve.Quite.
So fetching on an extra centre back would have gained us more of the ball![]()
Respectfully, that is a personal issue you need to work on. Nothing, nobody is bigger than Everton.Of course you are right my friend. My antagonisms toward a flawed, waaaaay out of his depth manager, are realistic enough to accept that reality.
But I cannot , I just cannot , suffer another season under this under-equipped manager.
I have said on many occasion; he's a snake oil salesman.
I just want shot of him.
He's tainting my love for Everton.
oh god mate that semi is now giving Martinez an excuse for the next 4 league games - he already kind of hinted at it with his latest interview stating players who don't perform will risk being dropped for Wembley - by inference saying that some players already had their mind on that semi final.
He will throw a few players under the bus over the next 3-4 games i am certain, Baines and Besic being the most likely one to suffer
errrr...I think you missed the cabin crew/cockpit analogy...read again mate. He's not as in this case the team can actually change what happens on the pitch... They're not robots. They can make decisions for themselves.
Would go for that. Quarter to one is no time to be watching or playing football.
One the pundits last night, Shearer I think, commented that Evertom played like they had "Wembley on their minds".
I am beginning to think beating Chelsea might have been the mother all Pyrrhic victories.
It seems like the remains league campaign has been written off![]()
Biggest one for me was seeign Jagielka (i think) and Sdtones both go then stop then go then look at each other for the same ball whilst the Arsenal player nearly got in because of it having been 15yards away initially, utter shambles
Also don't know if you saw Lukaku motioning to the bench and waving to ask after the formation change where he was suppoosed to be playing (think about ten mins into the half- now as he looked utterly confused, lack of communication was alarming - and honestly think that Martinez has everything figured in his own head and fails to actually pass it on to the players half the time
Think some players must now be thinking - jesus christ what the hell are we doing now and just facepalming as he does his little merry fm tweaks
Quite.

This is something I am surprised hasn't been much commented on much here over the weekend.
An interview with Rom went out on BT prior to Saturday's game and he came right out and said that "sometimes we pass the ball too much in midfield when we should be hitting it up the pitch......we have had meetings about this" (from memory, not verbatim).
bu Everton's current coaching policy when I played my recording of the game on Saturday night.
But this a live-time (or damn near it) forum. Are you saying I should withhold my sentiment for 6-12 months???Respectfully, that is a personal issue you need to work on. Nothing, nobody is bigger than Everton.
Roberto Martinez is either on borrowed time for another 6 -12 months, or he delivers and we are all happy.
But Everton remains Everton long after he is gone.
errrr...I think you missed the cabin crew/cockpit analogy...read again mate.
Like the players not knowing what to do in dead ball situations,I get the impression they just hand out the bibs and lay the cones, even bloody Archie Knox used to show he was interested. like I said will be glad when they are gone.not gonna criticise ferguson as have to figure he works with Lukaku and thats the one thign this season that has seen a notiicable improvement both in the air and hsi first touch - both thigns ferguson had
As quiet as a church mouse this squad is
Yep, that's pretty much how it went, when I watched it I kinda sat back and went 'BLIMEY...has he just said that'.
I made this point last year, and little has changed, but if you watch ROM during games the amount of times you see him pointing/asking for the ball in certain areas/ havin' a shout etc...it's shocking. And I don't blame (for the most) players for NOT adhering to his 'ask'...they're playing to instruction, that's the problem IMO. The over-passing was a HUGE issue at WIGAN, and the pattern repeats here...and it's not gonna change, same as the defensive frailty.
Grim innit.
