I think the players have had enough of his endless waffle. I mean we only have to put up with it for 10 minutes a week, can you imagine
being subjected to his bs on a daily basis! We have all at some time worked for a manager who was a bit of a tit, and over time you lose the respect for them as they kind of dig their own hole and confirm that they dont really know what they are talking about.

I honestly would not be suprised if Moshiri does not can Martinez in the next couple of weeks, he needs to act and show the players we have
ambition. Everyone fears a club with a new man in charge as they dont know what to expect, unfortunatly we are predictable under this oaf lets not forget, Martinez came to us after getting a team relegated, Wigan were just fine until this guy turned up

To be fair, we're seventh in the "Away form" league and have played three less than the majority of those above us so five or six points from those catch up games would put us third or fourth.

But, we're 12th in the league, and you don't qualify for Champions League or Europa based on your away form.

I'm not having a go at non-match goers, but home games are, psychologically, more important to your average match goer because, for the majority of them, they're the games they go to. There are ~35000 Blues at our home games as opposed to 2 or 3 thousand at aways.

Even in the global environment that football operates in these days, with millions watching on TV and online, when it comes to pressure on a manager, there's still, rightly or wrongly, more weight given to the views of the regular match goers

Well reasoned. Our problem is that we want to play like Barcelona and dominate the opposition at Goodison. But where Barca have goalscoring threats all over the pitch, World-class players at their peak and a finely-honed system we're still novices. Teams can come to our place, double up on Lukaku, congest the midfield and wait to pick us off.

Away from home we spring the counter attacks and it suits our players more. We played more conservatively against Chelsea and reaped the rewards. I think that we're afraid that if we invite the opposition on to us at Goodison rather than throwing the kitchen sink at them that the fans will criticise a perceived lack of adventure.

The league is still very tight. We could plausibly win at Old Trafford and draw level on points with Chelsea. We have two games in hand on seventh-placed Southampton. Win them both and we're only 3 points behind them and they still have to come to our place.

Leicester and Liverpool are the only sides above us in the league that we still have to play and they're both our favoured away fixtures.

I like you Blue Toff and your re-representation of the OP (also known as: moving the goal post) is to be applauded ....but only from a politician's perspective.

Cheers.

I didn't think I'd moved the goalposts of the OP - I just didn't agree with the analogy.

I get the point he was making, and RFUS is a sensible, reasoned poster - but I don't think he was entirely correct on that as the players are more than capable of being able to effect the result.

Disagree with them meself, mate. Especially when there's a fair bit of travelling to be done. If there has to be k.o.'s at that time it should be between clubs closer to each other imo.

Doesn't excuse Saturday's horror show in any way, though.
Yeah whatever time it is it works for both teams.
Wasn't there a game at twelve. That's pretty much the morning. Should only be watching football in the morning on TV from other side of the world

Who is to blame the fans, the ref,the players never the managers fault.

Amazing.

I've said numerous times overall RM takes the blame.

Try reading my posts please before making an in-correct judgement.

I'm just stating the fact that the players are the ones on the pitch who have to perform - and thus must also take some (not all) of the blame for underperforming.

The classic response is 'well they've lost faith', and my answer to that would be that they are professionals (highly paid, at that) and should still perform to the best of their abilities for the fans, the club that pays their wages and - probably most relevant in this day and age - their own self-preservation and determination to be successful.

I'd honestly prefer getting rid of him now instead of waiting till the summer. If we win the FA Cup it will be a bit more difficult to get rid of him I imagine. League form should do it for me and on that evidence he's not good enough.

As I posted earlier mate, I genuinely believe R Martinez has 'lost the players'...they no longer believe in him. The cabin crew no longer care about the cockpit...there is precedence for this you know. A much, much better manager than R Martinez recently suffered similar experience at Chelsea...

You talk cack.

...granted, but only to a point because it happens SO often that it can't really be missed, thus he shouldn't be missing it and should be addressing it with either or, yes?

But just last week Barkley played two crisp, quick passes to Rom and look what happened...

Why wouldn't he try to do the same on Saturday?

(This is just as an example, obviously)
