They definitely worked on a plan.

It was just completely wrong

Same plan as all the other losses .... speaks volumes, reminds me of the simpsons were homer keeps getting an electric shock each time he does the same thing ..... "homer martinez"

At least with the other defeats you could see the game plan mate, and there were positives.

Not on Saturday.

Completely abject and devoid of any creativity - players and manager.

And Martinez said: “I think mentally we didn’t enjoy our performance, I think don’t think mentally we enjoy playing at home and today that affected our performance.

“Until now it has affected our results, but on Saturday it has affected our performance.

“Did I see signs of a poor performance coming in training? The opposite. We looked sharp.

“The players were showing an incredible desire of wanting to bring that Cup feeling into the league. We knew we had four games at home and we had to turn the results around at home.

“You can turn the results around when you play well. And I think we have been playing really, really well at home, apart from the game against Manchester United which was similar to this.”

“Could it be the distraction of going away? Maybe for one or two players, maybe they were getting trips ready or concentrating on their national teams.

“But I just don’t think that should have had a say in the performance individually or as a team.

“I know that Argentina, Costa Rica and USA have World Cup qualifiers and you can understand it.

“But I think it’s an international break that many, many of us could do without.

“I just feel that after Saturday we wanted to be in and we wanted to work and we wanted to prepare the next game.

“You have to work with what is given and now it’s a break and we have to make sure we will regroup in 10 days’ time and prepare for the Man Utd game.”

Biggest conman in the game today.

Okay I'm changing my vote to out. I've had a think about it and realised that if it's hundred per cent out then it will be funny point of reference when he's still here next year. If there's a humbling experience to be had then I want in.

Martinez has a great squad that everyone knows should be doing better. I think it is down to man management. Martinez does not possess the skills
or the personality needed to instill belief and confidence in the players. I think he is way out of his depth, to be fair we employed a manager who relegated his former club, it was a risk and one we all hoped would pay off, and we, as a club must shoulder some of the responsibility for taking such a risk.

Going forward Moshiri needs to act quickly move him on, and meet with our players and tell them the plans and why they are better off with us
as we have a bright future after years of under investment

what's the point now though?

All it would do is further disrupt the squad ahead of the semi-final.

If he's gonna go (assuming we didn't win the cup) then it might as well be in the summer.

If we win the cup he gets pre-season and the first 10 games or so of next term to show he can turn it around.

I know its all ifs buts and maybes, but what is fact is that unless we win the last three home games Roberto will have presided over the worst home record in Everton's history - worse than anything even Walter Smith served up, not just in the Premier League but in the clubs history, have a think about that!!!! I, like you I believe, was pretty much on the fence for a long time over Roberto but the West Ham and Arsenal games have tipped it for me!
I'm pretty much of the opinion now that even if we win the Cup he needs to go! What is 10 games next year going to tell us that we don't already know, apart from the distinct possibility that we will once again be giving the rest a head start and who knows what that'll lead to?
An FA Cup win should not excuse the two years of poor League results and far to regular dire League performances particularly at Goodison.
