Actually unbelievable.I hadn't noticed that. Completely unfair IMO.
What's not to like about a piece like that? It was constructive and rolled out a critique.
I'd just counter it with a few points: the missing player Brownie spends much of his time alluding to there: isn't blindingly obvious that he's missed out the tracking of Yarmolenko in that commentary? It's not like Martinez has stood there scratching his bollocks wondering whether to play Cleverley rather then Kone. He sees the type of quicksilver presence we require. Also left out from the critique on that score was Tarashaj's purchase - a player who can drift in from wide and open up in the final third: a creative force who can play between the lines. It's not like the demise of Pienaar has been allowed to take place without thought to his succession.
Hes had 2 windows to address the left side issue, 2 transfer windows where hes ignored it.
Second point: style of play. I think the style of play is right in front of your eyes - hiding in plain sight: it's a counter attacking game. We play a counter attacking style for the bulk of the time and only get on the ball for long spells through necessity when the turgid teams roll up at Goodison (at which point we need that quicksilver player to make an impact and help get our noses in front and then we have a team forced to come out). I dont understand how there can be any confusion over that.
The whole league knows how we play and the whole league knows how to counter it, 18months down the line he hasnt changed his tactics and its stale zombie football that is boring to watch.
Third point: direction and leadership. It's a fair enough point because the undulations in results have been going on too long. But the performances for the vast amount of the season have been very good and worthy of much more than we've got back in terms of points. It's way more consistent than last season. The Arsenal game was mentioned to proffer a general view that we've lost direction, but that was atypical of the season as a whole. Yes, leadership is lacking...but lacking within the team. It's a massive concern that these players have no heart, no determination to roll their sleeves up in adversity. That requires the expulsion of some players and the bringing in of players with those qualities.
Funny how most of these players showed leadership, team spirit and a desire to win under Moyes, nothing has been consistent all season, apart from home defeats, we beat Chelsea 1 week, whilst playing like crap, then we fold meakly to Arsenal while not once showing a desire to win.
Cant see it myself. I think after all that time at Arsenal with no say in anything and the Wenger situation he may likely have a
replacement lined up, just a thought, not in the know at all, but if he was talking to Bill as Bill stated, then he has been playing close attention over the last 18 months and can see what 67% of this forum can see

Do you even bother to read what the "Martinez fan club" think? Because if you did, the answer to your question would be obvious. Can't wait the new boss to do the right thing in the summer. 11th and another midtable finish is on the cards. 21 wins out of 67 wins. 4 home wins in a season. What kind of project is this? Dreadful league form for 2 seasons in a row I don't see any future here. Are we supposed to go for top 4 with this squad? Martinez better wins the FA Cup to buy him time. A big if...if he wins the cup but finish 11th again next season will the Martinez fan club still think he is the right person?
Nobody knows which Everton will show up, the players know the system is flawed and they have no will to keep flogging a dead horse. They have made their feelings known and in order to keep our better players we MUST change manager. Hes had his chance and hes been found wanting, he has the tactical know how of a dead cactus, we get beat and he blames the fans, the ref, sometimes even the players, he always claims we should have done better and hes right, for this squad to be sitting in 12th is probably the biggest joke ive ever known.
He simply does not have it in him to manage a club at the highest level, hes a League One manager at best and the sooner we sack the utter fraud the better. Cos thats what he is, a fraud, who lies and cheats his way to 3million pounds a year, hes a clown masquadring as a football manager.
And what standards do you think an Everton manager has to maintain in order not to be dismissed? You have the floor. Enlighten me.
Actually unbelievable.
