Top 6 then top 4?

Which of the teams currently ahead of us are going to say, "Look Everton, we've enjoyed our moment in the sun but from here on in, we promise not to strengthen our squad and to make sure we drop sufficient points to allow you to take your rightful place".

More the tone though isn't it. And no, I've not had a conversation like that with any fans at any point in the past.
Had ones where we've looked at all the possible permutations around staying up, getting into Europe or winning the league. Not taken on board a worst case scenario that's of little relevance and then decided it's reality and verbally beaten a manager and other fans with it

Dear me you are pessimistic aren`t you. For your information no one is `beating` any other fans with anything. My point on 15th place after another game is valid in my opinion, maybe not to you as you are in the martinez`in` camp, where I am in the martinez `out` camp.

I have explained this before at length.

You give the best case scenario as you want him `in`, where I have a more realistic view based on the continual slide down the table and his failure to do anything about it. Therefore my concern is both valid and reasonable, even though I hope it does not play out like that. You may see it as worse case scenario and that is fine, that is your opinion, of which you are entitled to. However my opinion is that it is not of little relevance, if we do unfortunatly end up 15th.

My opinion remains unchanged, despite your best efforts to descredit it. Martinez is simply not good enough to take this club forward
credit to him on his signings, but he has failed in too many other areas and therefore should go.

As much as I think he's not up to it, if he improved then I'd be happy with him staying.

I don't want him sacked for the sake of it. But how long do we give him to improve?
It's going to pretend on the mood all around the club I presume. I'd have given him two months this time last year. Now I'd say a season.
As I think you implied though maybe it's more a point of when someone we genuinely think carries on the rebuilding and is a step up becomes available.

Yeah as I've said several times as well. I'm not in conflict with you about your opinion but your method of expressing it.

They're similar in their outlook. Obviously so are Pulis and Mourinho, so nobody is saying we will end up like Barca any time soon. I'd say Dortmund is achievable soon enough. Looks a long way off at the moment considering what's happening on the pitch but maybe we're going exactly in right direction in other ways. Sometimes it's a spark that changes things on the pitch rather than steady progress. And when it happens what is under the surface becomes crucial.
I admire your positive outlook, I really do, but like Martinez, you can't just put a positive spin on everything. This is 3 seasons in now. Factually speaking, results have declined.

I think until the end of the next season. If the rumours about us having significant funds are true in the summer then RM will have no excuse not to get us shooting up the table and that's regardless of wether we lose any of our key players.

If he has £100m to spend and is still incapable of making us solid defensively, at least enough to win a lot more games, he doesn't deserve to hold on to his job.

Yeah as I've said several times as well. I'm not in conflict with you about your opinion but your method of expressing it.

And that is my point. You want to soften whatever I say to suit the Martinez in vote, whilst taking some of what I have written
to an extreme to try to discredit it.

I wont let you do this.

You do not like my method of expressing my opinion as it does not suit you, and anyone else who wants martinez to remain.

I accept that. And accept it's a gut feeling that could be wrong. It's not coming from a bright eyed admiration of him though. Just seen similar group of young players who looked inconsistent turn it round almost overnight. It's got to be better than watching some of the sides we've had when you were searching for any quality on the pitch.
Loads to do, can't argue with that.

Disagree to an extent. Our attacking has been much improved year on year. I get the defence has been awful though. I guess patience is not useful in the instant gratification days we live in now.

Which is the exact equivalent of: "Can give it, but can't take it"

A shameful slur to be lumbered with in anyone's eyes.

What are you going to do? Sue me?

Ha , you see that is what people like you do when backed into a corner with common sense and facts
unable to retract what you have said, or provide a balance to a simple difference of opinion, you resort to
the above.
I am bored of your ramblings now so will excuse myself from debating with you in future.

Actually I buckle very easily when presented with common sense. And some people on here are very capable of that. Calling people naive isn't really doing that. As I said it doesn't offend me. It's just not effective. Neither is a group of people poking fun at other fans for a scenario that hasn't even happened.
Anyway this isn't very useful for either of us. Shall we agree to ignore each other?

So, If we have another season like this under Martinez, would you agree it merits a sacking?

Come on Eddy, that's quitting talk and throwing the towel in.

You need to dig deep, get in the trenches. I think you two guys could be part of the undercard for tomorrow night.

On the day Jesus comes back to life, @bizzaro returns to fight the man @mikewex who piped him rar down.

The former FFP champion wants his belt back, and this time it's personal.

I'd say so. So many other things going to be considered though from both perspectives. I think my main point would be that I've started to think a similar season won't do much damage to the club and may bring a lot of benefit. Obviously a lot of frustration is likely too. And I think he'd walk if that was the case.
