Looking at the stats, In Martinez's first season we had the most clean sheets in our premier league history. This season we are scoring for fun.

It proves he is our best defensive manager when he wants, and our best offensive manager. He needs patience, because he will get the balance right next season or the one after. Especially, with the 150 million warchest and a preseason for Niasse.

We will be on fire.

We can only hope brother

martinez biggest flops were kone and alcaraz

moyes were koldrup and bily...ALOT worse both in cost and quality

every other Martinez buy has been a success...his hot rate is a lot higher than moyes

you are allowed to say Martinez is good at some stuff and moyes is bad at some stuff you know..
McGeady Et'o..

I have, his shoes always offended me, his words regarding the home fans offended me, but most of all, playing Kone offends me deeply.
I think he's a rubbish manager and a thoroughly dislikable man behind his public front. I think he's a vindictive con man. I can't bear listening to a word of bullshit he utters... get rid as soon as practical

Martinez has signed 22 players for a total fee of 100m.

Here are the first 22 signings Moyes made :

Yobo
Baardsen
Rodrigo
Wright
Turner
Li Tie
McFadden
Martyn
Kilbane
Bent
Cahill
Beattie
Plessis
Ruddy
Davies
Kroldup
Arteta
Neville
Valente
VDM
Stubbs
Lescott
AJ

23 players over 4 Seasons for a combined fee of 48m.
Some pyar crap players in there.

Not true though as it takes time for players to develop and integrate...espcially young ones!

No, not if the team has already a solid core, introducing kids and new players should be a steady and easy process that doesn't effect results. Take who you used for an example Alex Ferguson at United, or most good sides they don't torpedo the team successive complete failures of league finishes when blooding a few youngsters to an already relatively successful team .

Thier not exactly bunch of 16 year year olds out there either but thats a different argument.

It's just another lame excuse for his bad tactics to add o the pile.

I wrote awhile back that what perhaps Martinez needs is a nadir moment. A low point. That we all have had in our lives. Well if you've lived long enough, you'll have one. It's when we learn the most about ourselves, our methods. Are we the actually architect of our own disasters.

You see I sincerely believe that Martinez, especially considering his age, has a lot of potential and talent already. The conundrum for me is, why isn't he producing it consistently. Well maybe he just needs that moment or even an epiphany. Maybe he just needs a break.

Now for some. Their patience has run out. It's time for him to go. Which is understandable. What I would suggest though, is some of the most successful leaders, sportsman, business people etc...have only really blossomed after their nadir or "road to Damascus" defining moment, when everything clicks into place.

What we could be seeing here is what story tellers refer to as a story arc. He's either the fool or the hero. The FA Cup will decide that.

He's had many of those these past 2 seasons and he simply doesn't want/or incapable of changing. The best for all parties is he gets his marching orders come the summer.

If not he'll only risk doing a Tim Howard and overstaying his welcome and having fans hate him. Leave now (preferably with an FA Cup part gift) and have that mutual respect remaining as let's be honest Things are not changing and with Rom leaving next season will only be worse.

I wonder what will happen to the fans who care more for Roberto Martinez than they do for Everton football club when the day comes that he's finally hooked? Will they stay on supporting us or go follow his next club like those fanboy Asian fans do when Ji Sung Park or Li Tie move on?
I'm sure they will both hang around mate ;)
