Go.

Has brought in some good young players and given ones already at the club a decent chance, however more worrying than poor results is the fact that he appears to act as though his philosophy is above reproach. This suggests a lack of will to change a slipping team rather than just a lack of ability to do so.

For reference see also: team selections, substitutions, still having mcgeady and kone.

Last season, when things got rocky, I advocated giving him until Christmas 2015 before we judged him. Even Davek thought this was a good idea. Assessing him now at the end of January, the only word I can think of that describes what he's done in in the last 18 months is "failure".
What makes it worse for me is the utter nonsense he spouts after a game. It really is an insult to our intelligence to foist his unsuccessful "philosophy" and his post-match drivel on Evertonians.
He won't get sacked mid-season and he almost certainly won't ever get sacked by this board, so I find this a completely distressing situation.I can only see the atmosphere at home games becoming ever more toxic. But I suppose he will blame the fans for that.
We'll still be here when you are long gone Roberto, that's the only thought that keeps me going.

First season bored me senseless, rode our luck game after game, United and Newcastle and so on missing absolute sitters against us, and us taking points because of it, passing it around slowly for 10 minutes before losing it and going again, relying on wonderstrikes and individual driving runs to get anything. (Fortunately Coleman, Mirallas, Barkley, Lukaku and co kept coming up with them).

Last season was the same only without the luck and the results.

This. I can't remember individual moments and I'm not gonna go back and check but I do recall us very often getting the rub of the green in the first season under Martinez and then a lot of the time since then it seems whatever can go wrong, does.

Stay or go? God knows. Stay - but get someone in with a bit more tactical nous as a Number 2. Or if his current No2 has that nous then listen to him. Not sure if it's a lack of will to change his philosophy or a lack of ability to suss out another way.

I reckon he'd be a decent Director of Football though.

I've already voted OUT, is there a chance I can have another go so I can vote OUT again?

yeaahhh! Just decided...Get him out. Demented, delusional relegation meister. His gut-wrenching press interviews, appalling run against lower order sides, I'd love Moyes back except it rarely works second time around

Give Unsworth the job till summer:

- develop from within
- proven track record in defence where Martinez is shredding young talent
- fans favourite

Martinez knows he's screwed up and keeping the proven lead weight that he is will only further reduce stature of a club restored by Moyes.

The question in reality may be, since the board will keep him, what's the best way for fans to lobby for the defence coaching that will reduce further damage before end of season.

Always think with these polls it's best to give them a few days after the result until people are thinking a little more reasonably.

A lot of upset Evertonians out there today, if someone offered me a magic wand to fix it all id happily pay good money for it.

Continually changing managers is not that magic wand though.

Having the exact person you want available would be a help but we're seemingly about to change ownership so who would do the appointing?

Putting an interim manager in place now until the end of the season will very likely make us even worse and open a window for our best young players to angle their way out of the club in the process.

Cool heads needed.

I agree with every word you've said there mate. I think last night was the tipping point for many including me. Our most important game since Kiev away last year and he managed to do the same all over again to a certain extent. Heaven help us if we go out on Sunday. If that happens his position would become completely untenable and I think he'd have to walk away. Better to walk away than be sacked. It would just be a question then, of playing out the rest of the season, when hopefully the ownership issues and a new manager would've been sorted.
