I think you can't look at Wigan. He was forced to sell his best players.

Yet he's kept his best players here and taken us backwards. The guys simply indefensible, I don't expect top 4 but I certainly can't accept 10th or below with this current side and Rom for 2 seasons in a row.

Sadly some of our fans have forgotten how good winning football matches feels.

Stop being lazy and dip into the vaults. I was dissapointed Moyes left, probably more to do with what it represented, add into the mix we got Martinez. Surely you can understand my dissapointment. People change, minds change, I'm not stubborn, if I'm wrong I'll say it. Don't want Moyes or Martinez ones a garbage manager, the other said he wouldn't stand in the way of any player who wanted to leave Everton in order to force Evertons hand. Plus with the fantastic squad Martinez' has built we should be able to attract a better manager for our future.

Read all you want. They went down because they were awful in defending, they were renowned for it, regardless I'd that clown was playing or not.

It's a bit easier to judge teams by actually watching them, instead of reading about them

To me it simply shows the obvious which is that the defence and keeper need to be changed now.

Romelu lukaku.

Well be addressing that next year as well, just short of 50% of our goals have come from this man, he hasn't built any attack, he's bought an amazing centre forwards.

You posted which of the teams above have a better squad at the moment.

I responded that we are BUILDING a squad to finish consistently in the top 4.

That is my response.

Im a long term thinking rather than looking for 5th or worse each season.

Theres at least 4 positions in the side which need improving....the squad is so unbalanced....no good having half a team of quality young players when the rest is unbalanced.

Thats what will be rectified this summer.

More than you by the looks of it.

They were a poor defensive unit, fact. Don't give me all the cap about him selling all his players, he was at Wigan so replacing a bang average defender on a 25% reduction in salary is nothing at all.

But three of those defenders; Jags, stones and Baines are England internationals. The other one, Coleman was talked about as the best right back in the league not to long ago.

Add to that, Oviedo who is decent back up and Mori who has had an okish first season and it's not exactly and awful defence to work with.

Is it not at possible, having considered the evidence, that Martinez doesn't know what to do with them?

Building a side that at least 2 of its biggest personel want out. Okay pal, meanwhile Koeman lost half his side over the past 2 seasons and is on course to finish above us again. I remember Rodgers banging on about rebuilding earlier this season before he was hooked, let's hope Mr Moshiri has as much sense as John Henry did in punting the snake oil salesman.

But what does the long term have to do with our ability to compete this season. We've had a season free of European football and in the main the injuries haven't been too bad, to just talk about the future is a cop out to me. This squad is better than a big chunk of the league to Martinez' credit yet we are 12th with one of the leagues top scorers.

So him having to sell his best players has nothing to do with it? Nothing at all? I think you're sorely mistaken if you discount that as a major symptom of their demise.
