He has done, then goes all one winger daft subs on us.

He has a flaw, and it will be his undoing if he doesnt address it. And any manager who looks at his first season, and doesnt recognise the mix of Moyes and Martinez was brilliant, then doesnt replicate that, is just, well, bloody annoying. To say the least.

But first season he played with the full backs attacking.focusing two summers on improving mid and attack and left the defence.

Second season this was shown up by other teams...so he then brought in Mori as a distin replacement (who went off a cliff along with howard)and this summer i think he will focus on defence and keeper.

McCarthy and Mori are 2 of his 4 main spends...two defensive players. Interesting to see who he gets when focusing on this area for me.

So your suggesting a player, Mori, that hoofs the ball more than any Everton player ive ever seen and cant defend crosses is playing the Martinez way?

It doesnt matter about Wham or Southampton.

Man Utd / Chelsea / Arsenal / Man City/ Spurs are the competition and we need to develop a style of play and top players to compete with them.

We have to build a squad to play the way martinez wants us to play....doesnt matter about having half a team of individuals if the other half dont match and the squad is weak....

I'll never get on board with this angle, I'm sorry because you're a very eloquent non confrontational poster who puts a lot of thought into you're post' but you're on about building to a future that see us compete with the afore mentioned clubs yet we are about to lose the only player who has kept this whole season 'respectable' because of our current scenario.

I don't care what anyone says, if repeat IF we lose Lukaku we are struggling I say this on the basis that as things stand to Everton football club he is irreplaceable. So baring that in mind this squad has an almighty task on its hands to improve going into next season already and that is without the potential Stones issue alongside the fact Barkley only has 24 months left an if we get a whiff he won't be re-signing then in terms of market value he will be more valuable with 2 years left as appose 1.

We are currently sailing up a creek that is filled with you know what, we do have a paddle, but it's not a very good one.

Zat mate, as I see it, we usually have 2 defensive midfielders, home and away, with 4 established international defenders behind them. Ok, pushing the "established" with FM.

With the worst defensive record in Europe. Nearly.
