Mate, he can't get the players anywhere near fit enough to play the 'Barca way' if you watch how they play the Pressure from the front and don't give the opposition a minutes space. They squeeze as often as they can, that requires immense fitness which comes with incredible training/coaching. The amount of leads we have lost this season suggest we are nowhere near fit enough to even entertain the idea of playing in that way.

In fact I'd be interested to know exactly when our last complete performance was.

Hes trying to play like Barca, but instead of a front 3 of Messi, Neymar and Sewerz he thinks he can stick The Clev or Kone on the left wing and win La Liga.

Training is just the whole squad sitting around watching Barca vids.

LB -- ??
LCB -- Mori
RCB -- Stones
RB -- ??
DM -- Barry * / McCarthy
CM -- Besic **
LW -- ??
ACM -- Barkley
RW -- Deulofeu
CF -- Lukaku

* Barry and/or McCarthy should be in DM and i think @Santodomingo would agree with me that both are masking the others deficiencies meaning we play with 2 players rather than just one (look at busquets for example of pure class here which we need also for this system).

** Due to playing 2 DMs (actually Barry at DM and McCarthy out of position) Besic is the only actual CM we have and even then he has been moved from a CB / DM into that role and we havent really seen him.

Its a mess really in the centre.

The list of players above are those able to play the style i think martinez wants and i feel strongly that until we sign at least 4 more players in the summer and then keep adding one or 2 a summer we wont be looking too hot as a squad.

...you seem to be omitting my point entirely - what a shocker - in that he's been addressing the GK issue for THAT long. In actuality even prior to JAN 15. Now, to me, that suggests there may have been an identifiable problem then...yes? Would you agree that the odd, misplaced loyalty toward a completely out of form TIM HOWARD cost us any points at all? I'm guessing the answer would be yes on that too because, frankly, surely no thinking person can deny that...yes? Ergo...it concerns me that it took him this long to address something he evidently, it seems, had flagged up as concern quite some time ago. And that, my friend, is a tiny part of why I genuinely believe his 'management'is often lacking...

Thats the Guardiola way...even at Bayern.

Difference is you need top players to keep the ball and press...and that requires the right players.

Hes improved all the top 7 odd players we have who are able to play this way.
