We're also a complete soft touch under him, that or we aren't fit enough to keep up with our opposition over your average 90 minutes. Stats are telling as is our complete lack of consistency.

FFS Martinez, tell them to break peoples legs. If you cant get a few legs broken by May you have to go. It's a must break legs game on Sunday. FFS...FFS.

In all honesty i prefer the old Villa Park, Elland Road semi finals, it had far more of a cup final game. Atmosphere is electric, at Wembley its a show day...nowhere near the same. And i think the majority of footy fans would agree

Exactly! And them shower o' shabbite at the FA insisting on 5.15 kick offs: "Football has moved on and we have to move with it"

I swear, I'd love to throttle that idiot, dyke.:mad::mad::rant:

This is my view also. For me a cup run is only successful if you either win the trophy or the cup run has a positive impact on the league form. I appreciate others may not agree.

If we'd lost against Rapid back in '85 we would have been ultimately unsuccessful in that competition, but people would still remember, and talk about the games against Bayern as being huge. The semi was actually a bigger game than the final. Admittedly if we hadn't gone on to win it, the memory would be a bit bittersweet, but you only win finals by getting to them, which means winning the semi.

...they wont like that. Be afraid, be VERY afraid.

Easy peasy.

Everton 1-2 Swansea = drops to plus 6

We play Newcastle, Villa, an out of form Stoke and West Brom in a 4 game run, it shoots up to a peak of +13

So even that is now downward trending again, two games later.

Anyone know if we can just play the bottom three for the rest of the season?

Sorry, here's the Martinez version

Thats clearly been doctored. In some countries you can be done for fraud for publishing misleading scientific evidence.

We shall henceforth call you 'El Fraudo' for trying to claim that manager sackings have a better outcome than retaining the manager.

Sackings yes have an initial short term improvement but quickly are in general superceeded by the retained manager team performance.

Probably as they have a chance to sort it out.

Instead of always having new systems/faces/players changing.

They see a team on the big Wembley stage and other big players there and the wags...and then sign...in a big hurry.

No player outside the PL are going to be remotely arsed about a team finishing either side of a midtable point. It's ridiculous to think they will.

All the desperate nonsense about 'another bottom half finish...it's intolerable lad'...big games and winning shiny trophies is what it's all about, not 7th place. That's what Roberto's had us in this season: big games - two SFs and hopefully a final.

You must be joking. Esk making the above statement from you look laughable and contradictive aside. Good players don't go to teams because the club found themselves in semi finals of thier domestic cups one season. Get a grip.

I'm not saying a team that finishes 5th,6th 7th. Is ultra attractive. But a team knowing for consistently knocking on the door at the top end year in year out is a million times more attractive than a team that found themselves in the semi finals of two of thier domestic cups one season.

If I was a decent player and Everton where in for me two years ago either side of the Moyes/Martinez era . And I knew the premiere league I'd say 'i like these I'd like to try be apart of taking them to the next level, they are consistently up there when I look at the table year in year out, very strong unit obviously have great character'.

Now though, I wouldn't be so confident. I definitely wouldn't be saying 'G wizz, two semi finals? Okay they're digressing under new management in the league but TWO SEMIS sign me up berto!!'

Like people say your a WUM and troll but WUMS and trolls spit out one liners that they don't believe in to wind everyone up and move on. Your 24/7 with big diligent paragraphs and you argue your point and answer most counter arguments (which I can respect). But if you are a WUM then I'm scared.

Two semis do not get the club into Europe.

Didn't Sheff Utd get to semi final and finals over last couple years? Don't see Messi clamouring for them!

So your answer to statistics that people have proven are consistently a highly accurate indicator is to just display the stats.

I thought our goal difference might be significant but couldn't be bothered checking how much. Quite amazed by what the article says. Only a couple of anomalies in terms of league position apparently. And they both reverted to type following season.
I've shifted from cautious support to full backing for now.
