Roberto Martinez discussion

It think one of his problems has been the type of goal we've let in. Our defensive record is not bad, but the type of easy goal usually resulting from a mistake be someone has led him to try to be more defensive in his setup.
You can sort of understand what he's doing but going more defensive is causing us more problems and he'd be better getting to the root of it and trying to prevent the mistakes rather than trying to take them into account.

In-game intelligence mate. It comes from the players. I have no idea why Jags tried to play the ball that he did (their third,) it was a nothing ball, and it wasn't worth the risk.

Likewise, Coleman totally abandoned his position (their 2nd) to try and win the ball in midfield, allowing Rojo to stroll up the left and have a 'free' cross into the box.

I'm pretty sure Seamus is GOT's favourite right back, so let's just brush that under the carpet and blame the gaffer ;)

agree totally, but Bobby at the moment seems to sort of accept it's going to happen and make us a bit more defensive each time it happens and we've ended up creeping back and being a bit too nervous about it.
It's probably just a few players having a bit of a wobble now and again that he's got to address instead rather than changing the tactics. They perhaps just need a bit of an arm around then, a bit of confidence and a bit of targeted training. I'm sure we'll be fine.

Is right mate. Backing the manager is the right thing to do.

Is Martinez perfect? No, no he isn't. Who is though? 5 months ago, Jose was the undisputed heavyweight champ of the world, according to some (myself included.)

This thread is taking the biscuit with its content. You can sum it up as thus:

Some lad(s) reckon we shouldn't play Barry and McCarthy together.

Everybody hates Naismith. We probably should be playing Ossie. He's a terrible footballer, but, err, he's good at keeping possession of the ball - Like I said, terrible footballer.

We should have spent half of our budget on a new keeper.

Martinez's subs are proper boss when they work (remember when Mcgeady come on and put in a great cross for a goal?) but they proper stink the gaff out when they don't work. Nothing to do with luck. Honest.

Moyes was better.

That's basically about 300 posts in this thread, yet some plumbs are still banging on, writing frigging essays, and demanding some sort of debate.

Makes me wonder what they want. :p
I agree mate

I would also add that for some reason you can't like Moyes and Martinez, why I don't know or understand
